Saint-Amand-en-Puisaye is the historical capital of ceramics in Burgundy. Since the 16th century, the clays of Puisaye have been exploited by generations of potters who have made the Saint-Amand stoneware famous throughout France. Even today, many ceramist workshops continue this tradition.
Saint-Amand-en-Puisaye is located in the northwest of the Nièvre department, 30 km from Cosne-Cours-sur-Loire and 50 km from Auxerre.
