Quartiers en Scène
Quartiers en Scène is a performing arts festival organized by the Cercle Paul Bert in Rennes, Ille-et-Vilaine (Brittany). Born from the conviction that culture is not reserved for a few places or a few audiences, the festival deploys its stages in several neighborhoods of the city to foster encounters between artists and residents.
A two-part festival
The program unfolds each year in two complementary periods: a first in spring, multidisciplinary (theatre, music, circus, comedy, performative lectures, shows for young audiences), distributed across several Rennes neighborhoods; then a second in summer, in public spaces, with free artistic offerings closer to residents — open stage, concerts, street theatre, musical parades, and circus.
A popular education approach
A festival supported by the Cercle Paul Bert, Quartiers en Scène is part of a popular education initiative and champions the idea of culture that is shared, moves, and is experienced in the heart of neighborhoods. To find out the detailed program and dates for each edition, consult the official website and the festival's social media.
