The Randonnée des Crus: a gourmet walk in the Arbois vineyards
The Randonnée des Crus du Jura, also known as the Balade Gourmande du Triangle d'Or, is an oenogastronomic event that combines hiking with the discovery of Jura wines and gastronomy. This summer event brings together hundreds of walkers and tasters every year in the vineyards of Arbois, the capital of Jura wines.
A 10 km route with five gourmet stops
The 10-kilometer route crosses the town of Arbois and its surrounding vineyards, with five gourmet stops along the way, like stages of a complete meal:
- 1st stop – Aperitif: tasting of a Jura wine with local appetizers, on Rue du Pré Vercel
- 2nd stop – Starter: a starter dish prepared by a local restaurateur, along the peaceful course of the Cuisance river
- 3rd stop – Main course: tasting in the inner courtyard of a wine estate
- 4th stop – Cheese: discovery of Jura cheeses — Comté, Morbier — in the heart of the vineyards
- 5th stop – Dessert: a sweet conclusion to the walk
In the footsteps of Pasteur
The route follows the historic streets of Arbois, walking in the footsteps of Louis Pasteur, who spent his childhood there and kept his family home. The walkers then cross the vineyards of the Arbois AOC appellation, discovering the emblematic grape varieties of the Jura: Savagnin, Chardonnay, Poulsard, Trousseau, and Pinot Noir.
Jura wines in the spotlight
Each stop is an opportunity to taste the AOC wines of the Jura region, among the most original and recognized in France:
- Arbois white and Arbois red
- Vin jaune: the famous 'yellow wine' aged for six years and three months in barrels
- Vin de paille: a sweet wine made from dried grapes
- Crémant du Jura: a fine and elegant sparkling wine
- Macvin du Jura: a traditional fortified wine
A friendly and festive event

Date
The Randonnée des Crus du Jura is held every year at the beginning of summer, generally on the first Sunday of July.
Times
Staggered departures between 10:30 AM and 12:30 PM. Duration of the walk: approximately 4 to 5 hours (at your own pace).
Starting point
Arbois town center (39600). The exact starting point is specified upon registration.
Access
- By car: Arbois is accessible via the D469 from Poligny (10 min) or the N83 from Besançon (45 min). Free parking in town.
- By train: Mouchard station (10 km), then shuttle or taxi. Arbois station on the TER Besançon-Lons-le-Saunier line.
