Rennes sur Roulettes is the big, popular, and free urban sliding festival in Rennes, Ille-et-Vilaine. Organized annually by the Cercle Paul Bert (CPB), this international sports event brings together the world's roller elite for marathons and circuit races, complemented by freestyle events (slalom, skate cross, jump), roller skating tours in the city, and a large activity village. Rennes sur Roulettes is an international sports event dedicated to urban sliding that takes place annually in Rennes, Ille-et-Vilaine (Brittany). Often nicknamed the «Woodstock of roller skating» or the «Paris-Roubaix of sliding,» it is considered the oldest event of its kind in Europe, with over four decades of existence.
A weekend of races and sliding
The core of the event is the speed roller skating races: the international marathon (42 km, counting for the World Inline Cup), the S'Mi Roller half-marathon (French Cup), the veterans' marathon, as well as the Rollerblade Kid's and Trott'Kids youth events. Additionally, there are freestyle competitions (speed slalom, slalom battles, free jump, skate cross), roller skating tours through Rennes (Rando'Mobility, Rando'Pop), and numerous activities accessible to all.
A popular and free festival
Access to the event is entirely free. Beyond the competition, the event offers a large village with a park session, pumptrack, demonstrations and introductions to roller skating, skateboarding, scootering, and BMX, in a family-friendly and festive atmosphere. Each year, it attracts competitors from over fifteen nations and a large audience of spectators.
