The major rock festival in the heart of the Domaine National de Saint-Cloud
Created in 2003 at the Domaine National de Saint-Cloud, Rock en Seine is one of the largest rock and independent music festivals in Europe. Every year at the end of August, the 460-hectare historic park on the banks of the Seine hosts over 100,000 festival-goers for five days to celebrate the biggest names in international rock, electro, and pop. An exceptional natural and heritage setting for a major event on the European music calendar.
Born on August 27, 2003, under the impetus of François Missonnier, Salomon Hazot, and Christophe Davy, Rock en Seine has established itself over two decades as one of the leading festivals in Europe. What was initially just a stage set up in a corner of the Domaine National de Saint-Cloud — with ten bands and Massive Attack as the headliner — has become an unmissable annual event, bringing together over 100,000 spectators over five days.
The festival's unique identity lies in the beauty of its setting: the Domaine National de Saint-Cloud, a 460-hectare listed park overlooking the Seine valley and offering a panoramic view of Paris. Between the large lawns, the shaded alleys, and the park's vistas, Rock en Seine has always managed to combine cultural dimension and open-air celebration in a preserved setting, just twenty minutes from the center of Paris.
Over the years, Rock en Seine's lineup has hosted the biggest names in international music: Radiohead, The Chemical Brothers, Arcade Fire, Franz Ferdinand, Beck, Lou Reed, Portishead, Blur, Nine Inch Nails, LCD Soundsystem, Kendrick Lamar, Billie Eilish, and Daft Punk. Diversity is a hallmark: alternative rock, indie, electro, hip-hop, experimental pop — the festival covers a very wide musical spectrum while maintaining high artistic standards.
The festival features up to five simultaneous stages on the estate, allowing attendees to move between major headliners and emerging artists. The Grande Scène hosts the headliners in front of crowds of tens of thousands of spectators, while the Scène de la Cascade, the Scène Firestone, and smaller stages offer opportunities to discover emerging French and international artists in a more intimate atmosphere.
Rock en Seine has developed ambitious policies in terms of sustainable development: reduction of plastic waste, reusable cups, short supply chains for catering, promotion of soft mobility through public transport (metro line 10, RER C). The festival, labeled Festival Engagé, aims to reconcile mass entertainment with environmental responsibility.
The 22nd edition of Rock en Seine took place from August 20 to 24, 2025, at the Domaine National de Saint-Cloud. The lineup featured artists at the peak of their art: Chappell Roan, Justice, A$AP Rocky, Doechii, Queens of the Stone Age, Jamie xx, Vampire Weekend, London Grammar, Jorja Smith, Aurora, Caribou, Fontaines D.C., and Khruangbin, among others. Five days of exceptional musical effervescence in the park, illuminated each evening.
The 23rd edition will take place from August 26 to 30, 2026. The festival has unveiled a prestigious lineup with The Cure, Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds, and Tyler, the Creator as headliners, accompanied by Deftones, Lorde, Franz Ferdinand, Interpol, Turnstile, Slowdive, Tash Sultana, Biffy Clyro, and Wet Leg. A lineup that confirms the festival's ability to attract the biggest global rock acts.
