Rock in the Barn 2026: the 17th and final edition
Rock in the Barn returns on September 11 and 12, 2026, to the Château des Tourelles in Vernon (Eure) for what the organization has announced as its final edition. After 17 years, three different locations and a change in team, the organizers are ending the festival, citing an increasingly demanding economic climate and a desire to explore new horizons.
The lineup features 19 artists, ranging from folk and indie pop to rock, post-punk and electro, including both new discoveries and bands that have performed at the festival before. On Friday, the site opens at 5:00 PM. On Saturday, admission is free from 2:00 PM to 6:00 PM, with concerts running from 6:00 PM to 2:00 AM.
A springboard competition for musicians from the Eure region, organized on June 20 with the City of Vernon and Seine Normandie Agglomération, adds a winner to the lineup. The winner also receives a recording session at the Studio de Vernon and a residency at the Espace Philippe-Auguste.
Construction work is planned on the Paris – Vernon SNCF train line: the organization advises planning your journey in advance.

Rock in the Barn: The Festival of Independent Rock Discoveries
Rock in the Barn is an independent rock festival held annually in September in Vernon, in the Eure department. Since its creation in 2010 in Giverny, the festival has consistently championed the creativity of the independent music scene, blending international artists and French discoveries in an intimate and warm atmosphere.
A Green Haven by the Seine
After starting on the Grande Île of Giverny, and then setting up its amps at Ferme de Bionval near Vexin-sur-Epte, Rock in the Barn found its home in 2023 at the Château des Tourelles in Vernon. This historic site on the banks of the Seine, with its tree-lined park, offers an exceptional setting where music resonates among ancient trees and medieval walls. The atmosphere is resolutely bucolic and friendly.
A Discerning and Eclectic Program
The guiding principle of Rock in the Barn is clear: to offer discoveries in rock, garage, pop, psychedelic, post-punk, and electronic music from here and abroad. Each edition brings together about twenty bands from the United Kingdom, Ireland, France, and elsewhere for vibrant concerts and dancing incantations. In 2025, the 16th edition hosted Camp Claude, Gurriers, Pillow Queen, Kids Return, We Hate You Please Die, and many others.
A Human-Scale Festival
With an attendance of around 1,500 people, Rock in the Barn cultivates its intimate format, which fosters encounters between artists and the public. Fresh craft beers and local culinary delights accompany the musical evenings, creating an authentic and relaxed festival experience. The festival benefits from the support of the Normandy Region and local authorities.
Over Fifteen Years of Independent Passion
Since 2010, Rock in the Barn has built a strong identity in the Norman and French festival landscape. True to its values of independence and discovery, it continues to explore the creative margins of the international rock scene, offering each year a renewed panorama of the sounds that will shape the music of tomorrow.
