The Festival de Musique du Pays Houdanais: A Musical Event in the Heart of Rural Yvelines

Every year in September, the small village of Tacoignières, nestled in the countryside of the Pays Houdanais, transforms into an open-air music stage. The Festival de Musique du Pays Houdanais, supported by the Communauté de communes du Pays Houdanais (CCPH), has become over the years the main musical event in this rural area of western Yvelines.

The concept is generous: ten free concerts take place from 4 PM to midnight on two outdoor stages set up in the park of the rural community center. The carefully curated program offers a musical journey through genres: jazz, blues, rock, pop, funk, soul, French variety, rockabilly, disco, and grunge. Each edition renews its lineup of artists, giving spectators the opportunity to discover local and regional bands in a relaxed and warm atmosphere.

A Family-Friendly and Convivial Festival

Beyond the music, the Festival de Musique du Pays Houdanais aims to be a family-friendly and accessible event. Between the two stages, activities are offered for the younger ones: face painting, balloon sculpting, and free pony rides. Fast food and drinks are provided by stands set up on site, allowing spectators to spend the entire evening there.

Tacoignières, a Village of Music

The choice of Tacoignières as the permanent location for the festival is no accident. This village of a few hundred inhabitants, located between Houdan and Montfort-l'Amaury, offers an ideal rural setting for an open-air festival. The park of the rural community center, with its green spaces and shaded paths, is perfectly suited for setting up the two stages and activity areas.
