A literary fair rooted in Seine-et-Marne
The Salon du Livre de Courtry was born in 2019, taking over from the Fête du livre organized until 2018 by the association Livres en Tête and the municipality of Courtry. This new, more ambitious format is supported by the Ville de Courtry with the backing of the Paris - Vallée de la Marne urban community and its network of media libraries, the Department of Seine-et-Marne, and the Île-de-France Region. In just a few editions, it has established itself as one of the major literary events in northern Seine-et-Marne.
Four literary poles for all tastes
The program for the Salon du Livre de Courtry is structured around four thematic poles: comic strips, crime fiction, youth literature, and novels (including historical novels). Around 70 authors are present each year to sign their books and interact with readers. This diversity allows it to reach a wide audience, from the youngest to lovers of demanding literature, as well as fans of comics and crime novels.
The Espace Robert-Jacobsen, setting for the fair
The fair is held at the Espace Robert-Jacobsen, a modern cultural facility located in the heart of Courtry. This spacious venue can comfortably accommodate author stands, signing areas, and events throughout the day. The fair is open from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and admission is free, in line with the organizers' commitment to making literature accessible to all.
An event supported by an entire territory
The Salon du Livre de Courtry exemplifies the cultural dynamism of the Paris - Vallée de la Marne urban community. The network of the community's media libraries actively participates in organizing the event, while Cultura is a partner of the fair. Each edition also features complementary activities: readings, writing workshops, and meetings with guest authors, which extend the fair into the territory's media libraries before and after the event.
