Artisan Crafts in the Spotlight in the Bocage

The Salon Métiers d'Art de Flers highlights the richness and diversity of artisan crafts practiced in Normandy and the Orne Bocage. Every autumn, the Forum de Flers hosts around forty art craftsmen who open their temporary workshops to the public for two days of meetings and discoveries.

Passionate Artisans

The fair brings together professionals from various disciplines representing the diversity of artisan crafts:

  • Ceramics and Pottery: stoneware, earthenware, porcelain, raku
  • Jewelry and Gemstones: creations in silver, gold, stones, and natural materials
  • Woodworking: cabinetmaking, turning, sculpture, marquetry
  • Textiles: weaving, embroidery, felt, lace
  • Glass: stained glass, blowing, fusing, engraving
  • Leather: leather goods, saddlery, bookbinding
  • Cutlery and Forging: artisanal knives, art metalwork

Live Demonstrations

One of the unique features of this fair is the opportunity to watch the artisans work live. Visitors can witness the precise gestures of the woodturner, the potter at the wheel, the jeweler at the workbench, or the glassblower with a torch. These demonstrations allow visitors to understand the complexity and beauty of each craft and to interact directly with the creators about their journey and passion.

A Community-Driven Event

The fair is supported by Flers Agglo and is part of an initiative to promote local know-how and Norman artisan crafts. It also benefits from the support of the Chamber of Trades and Crafts of Normandy (CMA Normandie), which assists artisans in their development and visibility.

A Place for Meeting and Shopping

Beyond admiration, the fair is also an opportunity to purchase unique pieces directly from the creators. Decorative objects, jewelry, accessories, tableware, furniture: each stand is an invitation to discover original and quality creations, ideal for end-of-year gifts.
