Artisan craft fair of the Bocage normand
The Salon Métiers d'Art de Flers, also known as the Salon d'Artisanat d'Art du Bocage, is a cultural and artisanal event held every autumn at the Forum de Flers, in the Orne department. Created in 2020, this fair brings together around forty art craftsmen from the region who present their creations, explain their trades, and work in front of the public. Ceramists, jewelers, cabinetmakers, glassblowers, cutlers, leatherworkers, and many other craftsmen offer visitors the opportunity to discover exceptional know-how and acquire unique pieces.
The Salon Métiers d'Art de Flers highlights the richness and diversity of artisan crafts practiced in Normandy and the Orne Bocage. Every autumn, the Forum de Flers hosts around forty art craftsmen who open their temporary workshops to the public for two days of meetings and discoveries.
The fair brings together professionals from various disciplines representing the diversity of artisan crafts:
One of the unique features of this fair is the opportunity to watch the artisans work live. Visitors can witness the precise gestures of the woodturner, the potter at the wheel, the jeweler at the workbench, or the glassblower with a torch. These demonstrations allow visitors to understand the complexity and beauty of each craft and to interact directly with the creators about their journey and passion.
The fair is supported by Flers Agglo and is part of an initiative to promote local know-how and Norman artisan crafts. It also benefits from the support of the Chamber of Trades and Crafts of Normandy (CMA Normandie), which assists artisans in their development and visibility.
Beyond admiration, the fair is also an opportunity to purchase unique pieces directly from the creators. Decorative objects, jewelry, accessories, tableware, furniture: each stand is an invitation to discover original and quality creations, ideal for end-of-year gifts.
