The Séquence Court-Métrage International Festival is one of the major cultural events in Toulouse and the Haute-Garonne department, in Occitanie. Organized by the Séquence Court-Métrage association, founded in 1991 on the initiative of a group of cinema enthusiasts, it has established itself over the editions as a French and international reference for short films.
An international short film festival
Each year, Séquence receives an average of 1,300 short films from all over the world and selects about a hundred, divided between competitions and thematic programs. Fiction, animation, documentary, music videos, and hybrid forms: all short film genres find their place. Screenings take place in partner cinemas in Toulouse (Cinéma ABC, American Cosmograph, Théâtre du Grand Rond, and other cultural venues in the city), accompanied by meetings with directors and moments of exchange with the public.
An association active all year round
Beyond the December festival, the Séquence Court-Métrage association works throughout the year to disseminate and promote short films in Occitanie. In spring, it notably relays the national operation La Fête du Court-Métrage in Toulouse. The 35th edition of the Séquence Court-Métrage International Festival will be held from December 9 to 13, 2026, in Toulouse, Haute-Garonne. Five days of short film screenings from around the world, competitions, and meetings with directors in the city's partner venues.

From December 9 to 13, 2026, the Séquence Court-Métrage International Festival returns for its 35th edition in Toulouse, in the department of Haute-Garonne. As every year, the Séquence Court-Métrage association selects about a hundred films from nearly 1,300 short films received from all over the world, across all short-format genres: fiction, animation, documentary, music videos, and hybrid forms.
The screenings are distributed among Toulouse's partner venues, punctuated by meetings with directors and discussion sessions with the public. The detailed program for this edition is currently being put together (the call for films runs until May 31, 2026) and will be announced in the autumn on the official website and social media channels of the festival.
