Europe's largest automotive charity gathering
Sport & Collection - 500 Ferrari contre le Cancer is Europe's largest automotive charity gathering, held annually on the Val de Vienne circuit in Le Vigeant. Created in 1995, this event brings together over 1,300 sports, prestige, and racing cars, including more than 600 Ferraris, for cancer research at the CHU of Poitiers. Over four days, 50,000 enthusiasts come to admire track sessions, elegance contests, an air show, and a grand parade.
Since 1995, the Val de Vienne circuit in Le Vigeant has hosted one of Europe's most prestigious and generous automotive events each year. Sport & Collection - 500 Ferrari contre le Cancer was born from the desire to combine a passion for motorsport with a commitment to solidarity in the fight against cancer. What began with 250 grand touring cars, including a dozen Ferraris, has become an unmissable event, bringing together over 1,300 exceptional vehicles and attracting 50,000 visitors annually.
The event is organized by a non-profit association (loi 1901) entirely composed of volunteers. Since its creation, over 7.3 million euros have been donated to the oncology department of the CHU of Poitiers, funding state-of-the-art equipment, clinical research programs, and improved patient care. Each edition features a charity sale and an auction, with all proceeds going directly to research.
The festival unfolds over four intense days. Track sessions allow owners to drive their cars on the Val de Vienne track from Thursday to Sunday, including spectacular night sessions. Retrospective exhibitions highlight major brands: Ferrari, of course, but also Renault, Peugeot, and Le Mans prototypes. The elegance contest on Saturday brings together the most beautiful cars in a bucolic setting at the center of the circuit.
Among the highlights is the Air Show of the French Air and Space Force, featuring the Patrouille de France and its Alpha Jets, offering a magnificent spectacle punctuated by fireworks. The Grand Parade of 500 Ferraris on Sunday lunchtime is the event's iconic moment: hundreds of Ferraris of all generations, from classic 250 GTs to the latest LaFerraris and Daytona SP3s, parade before the amazed public. Race car passenger rides allow visitors to experience thrilling sensations on the track.
Admission is free for children under 12, and prices remain accessible for an event of this scale. Several pass options are available, from simple circuit access to passes including the paddocks. Catering is available on-site with snack bars, refreshment stands, and a restaurant. The Val de Vienne circuit, located 50 km from Poitiers, offers a green setting in the Poitou countryside, ideal for a family outing or a gathering of enthusiasts.
