Le Lezart Festival: A Unique Cultural Event in Nouvelle-Aquitaine
Since 2020, Lezart Festival has established itself as a must-see cultural event in the Vienne department. Organized by the association Arts et Perspectives, this community-based, solidarity, and participatory festival takes over the La Guillonnerie leisure area in Vicq-sur-Gartempe every August. This picturesque village of 600 inhabitants is nestled on the banks of the Gartempe river, between Poitiers and Châtellerault. The fifteen-hectare green site offers an enchanting setting, conducive to artistic discovery and benevolent exchanges.
A Catalyst for Emerging Artists
The primary mission of Lezart Festival is to offer a professional stage to emerging artists from the lesbian, queer, and feminist scene. Each edition features a dozen concerts on the main stage, blending pop, electro, protest songs, and contemporary music, as well as an open mic stage allowing local talents to perform before an enthusiastic audience. Among the artists who have marked previous editions are Aloïse Sauvage, Tracy De Sá, Roxane Bruneau, Marine Baousson, and Kid Sophie, testifying to the richness and diversity of the programming.
Much More Than a Music Festival
Beyond the concerts, Lezart Festival offers a rich and varied multidisciplinary program. A 300 m² creators' market showcases contemporary crafts and creations. Creative and well-being workshops invite festival-goers to explore their artistic sensibilities. A community village brings together organizations committed to issues of inclusion, minority rights, and feminism. Conferences, signings by committed authors, and relaxation and games areas complete the experience, making each edition a unique moment of sharing.
A Bubble of Love in the Heart of the Poitou Countryside
What sets Lezart Festival apart is the atmosphere of kindness and freedom that prevails. Designed as a safe space, the festival welcomes all festival-goers in a warm and inclusive environment. With over 2,500 participants from all over France and even Belgium, the event has successfully united a loyal and growing community. On-site camping, by the river, allows for a full three-day experience, combining nature, art, and conviviality. Supported by local and regional authorities, Lezart Festival actively contributes to the cultural influence of the rural territory of Vienne.
