The swing and jazz meeting of Canet-en-Roussillon
Spring Swing Canet is a festive and cultural event dedicated to swing dance and jazz, organized by the association Swing Perpignan at the Théâtre Jean Piat in Canet-en-Roussillon. This spring event celebrates the spirit of swing, the dance born in the jazz clubs of the 1920s-1930s, characterized by its infectious energy, improvisation, and joie de vivre.
The Spring Swing Canet program is structured around two complementary aspects:
Each edition features swing bands performing on the stage of the Théâtre Jean Piat. Among the invited bands: Carolina Reapers Swing, Hop's Trio, and Marla and the Cool Chicken from Montpellier, who blend vintage swing, freshness, and modernity in energetic performances with retro sounds.
Open to beginners and experienced dancers alike, Spring Swing Canet is a moment of sharing and conviviality that brings together swing dance enthusiasts from the Catalan region and beyond.
The 2nd edition of Spring Swing Canet takes place on Saturday, April 18, 2026, at the Théâtre Jean Piat in Canet-en-Roussillon, from 2 PM to 11:30 PM. At 8:30 PM, DJ Eric kicks off the evening with swing classics, followed at 9 PM by a concert by Marla and the Cool Chicken, a Montpellier-based band blending vintage swing, freshness, and modernity. Paid dance classes are offered during the day.
