Open-air rock and reggae festival in the heart of the Yssingelais mountains
Sucs en Scène is an open-air music festival organized every summer in Marnhac, on the heights of Yssingeaux, in Haute-Loire. Created in 2013 by the association Des Pieds Des Mains (DPDM), this festive event offers an eclectic program centered around rock and reggae, with themed evenings: rock and punk on Friday, reggae and dub on Saturday. Located since 2022 on a three-hectare site in Marnhac offering a breathtaking view of the volcanic peaks, the festival welcomes up to 3,000 festival-goers in an exceptional natural setting. Driven by a team of passionate volunteers, Sucs en Scène has hosted artists such as Les Fatals Picards, Jahnération, Vanupié, Les Sales Majestés, Hilight Tribe, Tagada Jones, Yaniss Odua, La Caravane Passe, Les Ogres de Barback, and La Rue Kétanou over the years.
In the heart of the Yssingelais mountains, in a green setting offering a spectacular view of the volcanic peaks, the Sucs en Scène festival has been making the meadows of Marnhac vibrate for over a decade. Born in 2013 from the passion of a group of friends united within the Des Pieds Des Mains association (DPDM), this open-air festival has become a must-attend event on the music scene in Haute-Loire, combining conviviality, volunteer commitment, and quality programming.
Sucs en Scène's signature lies in its themed programming over two distinct evenings. Friday is traditionally dedicated to rock and punk, with energetic bands igniting the stage. Saturday makes way for reggae, dub, and hip-hop, for a more sunny and danceable atmosphere. Each evening, four bands perform on stage, with DJ sets ensuring transitions between concerts.
Over the years, the festival has hosted prestigious names from the French and international scene: Les Fatals Picards, Jahnération, Vanupié, Les Sales Majestés, Hilight Tribe, Tagada Jones, Yaniss Odua, La Caravane Passe, Puppetmastaz, Vandal, Les Naufragés, and Sidi Wacho.
Initially located at Les Cayres and then at Livinhac, the festival found its definitive home in 2022 on a three-hectare site in Marnhac, about one kilometer from Yssingeaux on the road to Retournac. This open-air site offers an exceptional panorama of the 'sucs', the characteristic volcanic domes of the Vellave landscape. The festival has a 110 m² main stage, a secondary stage for changeovers, as well as two distinct areas: a free access area for the craft market and activities, and a concert area with ticketing.
A festicamp allows festival-goers to pitch their tents directly on site, and free parking is available nearby.
Sucs en Scène defines itself as 'much more than just a festival': it is a musical and human adventure driven throughout the year by the Des Pieds Des Mains association. Beyond the concerts, the festival offers a craft market bringing together about ten local creators, festive olympiads on Saturday afternoon, a colorful pigment release in tribute to departed artists, as well as on-site catering using local products. The volunteer spirit, conviviality, and affordable prices are at the heart of this event's DNA, bringing together all generations in a preserved natural setting.
10th historic anniversary edition of the Sucs en Scène festival in Marnhac, Yssingeaux. For this anniversary edition, the festival is changing dates and moving to early summer, July 3rd and 4th, 2026. Exceptional lineup with Les Ogres de Barback and La Rue Kétanou as headliners as part of their joint tour 'Tout en Commun', accompanied by Les Vieilles Valises, Sans Voies, Tombés du Camion, Soa Bomba, and Monty Picon.
For its 10th edition, the Sucs en Scène festival marks a turning point by changing its dates. Traditionally scheduled for late August, the festival will now take place on July 3rd and 4th, 2026 for a '100% summer edition under the sun'. This change is due to three reasons: more favorable weather conditions in early summer at the Marnhac site, better availability of volunteers before the school year begins, and a more suitable schedule for artistic programming.
To celebrate this anniversary edition, the festival is pulling out all the stops with two major French headliners: Les Ogres de Barback and La Rue Kétanou, reunited as part of their joint tour 'Tout en Commun'. These two emblematic bands of festive and committed chanson perfectly embody the spirit of sharing and conviviality that has driven Sucs en Scène since its beginnings.
On Friday, July 3rd, the stage will host Sans Voies, Soa Bomba, followed by headliners La Rue Kétanou and Les Ogres de Barback. On Saturday, July 4th, it will be the turn of Tombés du Camion, Les Vieilles Valises, and Monty Picon to keep the party going.
As with every edition, on-site catering, camping (festicamp), and activities will complement this festive weekend in an exceptional natural setting, with breathtaking views of the volcanic peaks.
The festival takes place outdoors on the Marnhac site, 43200 Yssingeaux, about 1 km from the town center on the road to Retournac. The three-hectare site offers a panoramic view of the volcanic peaks.
