Sur un Plateau: Music and Terroir in the Heart of Mayenne

Created by the association Y'a plus qu'à, the Sur un Plateau festival was born from the desire to offer a festive and friendly event in La Chapelle-Anthenaise, a small town located a few kilometers from Laval. Since its first edition, this annual March event has become a highlight of local cultural life, attracting an ever-growing audience.

An Original Concept: Concert and Tasting

The principle of Sur un Plateau is simple and appealing: to combine live music and local Mayenne products in a single evening. Spectators enjoy concerts while tasting open-faced sandwiches, charcuterie, and cheeses from local producers. This concept highlights both the region's music scene and Mayenne's gastronomic expertise.

An Eclectic Musical Program

Each edition offers a rich and varied program:

• Five concerts covering diverse genres: folk, rock, fanfare, world music
• Two DJ sets to extend the evening until 4 AM
• Local and regional artists, with a particular focus on the Mayenne music scene

La Salle des Embellies, a Festive Venue

The festival takes place at the Salle des Embellies, a multi-purpose hall in La Chapelle-Anthenaise. This human-sized venue offers a warm and friendly atmosphere, ideal for this type of event where proximity between artists and the audience is essential.

A Free Entry Festival

True to its values of accessibility, Sur un Plateau operates on a free entry price: each spectator is free to decide the amount of their contribution. This strong choice allows as many people as possible to access quality cultural programming, regardless of their budget.

Growing Editions

Since its first edition, the festival has continued to grow. The 5th edition, in March 2024, confirmed the success of the formula, with an ever-larger and more enthusiastic audience. The Y'a plus qu'à association, driven by a team of passionate volunteers, continues to evolve the festival while preserving its friendly and accessible spirit.
