Ocean awareness festival organized by Nausicaá in Boulogne-sur-Mer
The Team For Ocean Festival is a free event organized every June by Nausicaá on its esplanade in Boulogne-sur-Mer. Dedicated to action for the ocean, it offers two days of fun, scientific, and sporting activities: creative workshops, scientific discoveries, games, and concerts. It brings together associations, researchers, artists, and the general public around marine biodiversity, in a festive atmosphere in the heart of France's leading fishing port.
The Team For Ocean Festival is the flagship event of Nausicaá, the National Sea Centre in Boulogne-sur-Mer, dedicated to citizen mobilization for the protection of the ocean. Every year in June, Nausicaá's esplanade transforms into a festive and committed village where the public is invited to discover, understand, and act for the preservation of the marine environment.
The Team For Ocean village is set up on Nausicaá's esplanade and offers a rich and varied program. Interactive stands allow visitors to discover the challenges of marine biodiversity, climate change, and ocean pollution. Environmental associations, researchers, and maritime professionals share their knowledge and actions to raise public awareness.
The festival offers a wide range of activities for all audiences:
Concerts and artistic performances punctuate the festival, bringing a cultural and festive dimension to the event. The cultural association LACENH and other local artists perform on stage, blending music and environmental commitment. The entire festival is broadcast live on Nausicaá's Twitch channel, reaching an even wider audience.
Nausicaá, the National Sea Centre, is the largest aquarium in Europe and a major player in raising awareness for the protection of the marine environment. With its 10,000 animals of 1,600 species, the center welcomes over 1.5 million visitors each year. The Team For Ocean Festival extends this educational mission beyond its walls, reaching out to the general public in a festive and participatory format.
Boulogne-sur-Mer, France's leading fishing port, is naturally the ideal city to host a festival dedicated to the ocean. The city's intimate relationship with the sea, its maritime history, and its fishing vocation give the Team For Ocean a special and authentic resonance.
