About Tout l'monde dehors
Supported by the City of Lyon, Tout l'monde dehors is the great free cultural event of the Lyon summer. From late June to late August, over 200 open-air events — concerts, street performances, screenings, workshops, performances — take over the parks, squares, and gardens of all Lyon's districts. This popular and unifying event transforms the city into a huge open-air stage, accessible to all without reservation.

Tout l'monde dehors — edition 2026
For its 24th edition, Tout l'monde dehors takes over Lyon from June 30th to August 30th, 2026, with 200 free open-air events spread across 84 locations in all 9 districts. Theater, music, cinema, dance, readings, circus acts, and dance parties will follow one another in parks, gardens, and squares, largely driven by local Lyon artists and over 1,500 volunteers. Highlights include the Soïo Mundo festival at Parc Blandan in early July, the ten screenings of L'Été en cinémascope by the Institut Lumière, the German film festival Sommerkino!, the Cinéma du Vieux-Lyon in the courtyard of the Palais Saint-Jean, and the Offenbach under the stars trilogy with the Opéra de Lyon in mid-August. Free admission, no booking required.
24th edition — from June 30th to August 30th, 2026
Tout l'monde dehors celebrates its 24th edition, once again transforming Lyon into an open-air stage. From Tuesday, June 30th to Sunday, August 30th, 2026, the City of Lyon is hosting 200 free events at 84 locations across the 9 districts: parks, gardens, squares, riverbanks, and school or town hall courtyards. The program is curated in collaboration with the district town halls and highlights local Lyon-based companies and ensembles; more than 1,500 volunteers help run the entire festival.
All disciplines, all neighborhoods
The program blends theater, music, open-air cinema, dance, readings, circus, and neighborhood parties, with many shows for young audiences clearly marked in the program, as well as an "ensemble(s) in music" series. Meanwhile, the municipal archaeology department offers guided tours of the Amphithéâtre des Trois Gaules, Arch&Eau walks, and the Antiqui'twist game.
Major events
The Soïo Mundo festival kicks off at Parc Blandan from July 2nd to 5th with traditional music from here and abroad. Open-air cinema takes over the whole summer: ten screenings of L'Été en cinémascope at Place Ambroise Courtois with the Institut Lumière, four evenings of the German festival Sommerkino! at Place d'Ainay, Cinema under the stars in mid-July, five evenings of the European film festival in the courtyard of the Palais Saint-Jean, and finally the Offenbach under the stars trilogy at the Jeunet gymnasium on August 17th, 18th, and 19th, in partnership with the Opéra de Lyon. Dance parties — Argentine tango, swing, Cuban salsa, Breton dances — punctuate Sundays and weeknights, while Biblio'Parc and Garden Readings keep families entertained.
Free and no booking required
All events are free and do not require tickets or reservations, with a few exceptions (Arch&Eau walks, Polar en vacances, guided tour of the Théâtre des Célestins). The full program is available for download at lyon.fr/tlmd, including an easy-to-read (FALC) version. In case of bad weather, some events may be canceled at the last minute: the City of Lyon publishes updates on the same page.

- Offenbach under the stars — cinema-opera trilogy on August 17th, 18th, and 19th at the Jeunet gymnasium (5th), in partnership with the Opéra de Lyon, preceded by a shared meal
- Célestins under the stars — August 20th at Place des Célestins (2nd): guided tour of the theater at 7:00 PM followed by an open-air screening
- Live theatrical heritage — two comedies by Françoise Pascal, France's first professional female playwright, on August 22nd, 23rd, and 25th
- Summer dance parties — Argentine tango, swing lindy hop, Cuban salsa, and Fest Breizh Danses, on several Sundays and weeknights
- For families — Biblio'Parc at Parc Popy, Garden Readings at the Museum of Fine Arts, Guignol, puppets at Gadagne, and Mario Vélo-Kart at the Henri Malartre museum

Getting there
Events take place in parks, gardens, squares, and public spaces across all nine districts of Lyon. All venues are easily accessible by public transport (TCL metro, tram, and bus), by bike, or via the Vélo'v bike-share scheme.
Admission
All events are free to attend. No booking is required, with the exception of a few specific activities noted in the programme: the Arch&Eau walking tours organised by the archaeology department, the 'Polar en vacances' days by Quais du Polar ([email protected]), and guided tours of the Théâtre des Célestins, which must be booked directly through the theatre's box office.
Accessibility
Most venues are accessible to visitors with reduced mobility. Please note that the following locations are difficult to access due to distance or terrain: Parc Chambovet, Parc Popy, the 5th arrondissement town hall park, the northern section of the Berges du Rhône park, and the Halle agriculturelle de la Duchère. The following sites are not wheelchair accessible: Square Jussieu, Maison Baillieu, and Jardin André Malraux.

Tout l'monde dehors: Open-air culture for everyone
Launched by the City of Lyon, Tout l'monde dehors has become over the years the unmissable cultural event of the Lyon summer. This ambitious program offers more than 200 free open-air events each year, spread across the nine districts of the city, from late June to late August.
A multidisciplinary program throughout the city
The richness of Tout l'monde dehors lies in the diversity of its programming and its presence in all of Lyon's neighborhoods. Classical music concerts, jazz, chanson, and world music, street theater performances, open-air cinema screenings, dance workshops, public readings, circus, visual arts: all artistic disciplines are represented, with a particular focus on family-friendly and participatory events.
Parks and squares as stages
Events unfold in Lyon's parks, gardens, squares, and public spaces: Parc de la Tête d'Or, Parc de Gerland, Place Bellecour, the banks of the Rhône, the slopes of Croix-Rousse, and many other locations. This presence in public spaces allows it to reach audiences who do not usually frequent traditional cultural venues, affirming the program's popular and inclusive purpose.
A free event with no reservation required
Tout l'monde dehors is entirely free and requires no reservation. Simply show up at the venues to enjoy the program.
