- 6:30 PM – 7:30 PM — Children's race (5-11 years old), untimed
- 8:00 PM — La Veillade dels Barons (10 km, 250 m D+) — semi-night race
Sunday, September 13, 2026
- 8:00 AM — Sobre los pas de la Bèstia (43 km, 1300 m D+) — the flagship race, ITRA rated
- 9:00 AM — Amé mes Esclops (15 km, 410 m D+) — hike
- 9:30 AM — Lou pas del Ase (27 km, 820 m D+)
- 10:30 AM — Lo Clapas (17 km, 410 m D+)
Starts and finishes at Place du Foirail in Malzieu-Ville. Combined races are also offered (10 + 17 km, 10 + 27 km, 10 + 43 km).

Practical information — Trail de la Margeride
Access
Le Malzieu-Ville is located in the north of Lozère, in the heart of Margeride.
- By car: From Mende, follow the N88 then D989 towards Le Malzieu-Ville (approx. 50 minutes). From Saint-Flour, D989 (approx. 30 minutes). From Montpellier, approx. 2 hours via the A75.
- By train: Nearest stations in Saint-Flour or Mende.
Registration
Registration is open online on the official website and on the Finishers platform. Registration opens in May for the following edition.
Training camp
A preparation camp is offered in May, a few months before the race.

In the heart of the Beast's territory
The Trail de la Margeride takes place in the Monts de la Margeride, a granite massif located in Gévaudan, in the heart of a Natura 2000 zone. The courses wind between 900 and 1500 meters in altitude through wild and preserved landscapes of moors, forests, and peat bogs, in the historic territory of the Beast of Gévaudan.
Four races and a hike
The event offers several formats adapted to all levels:
- On the tracks of the Beast (43 km, 1300 m D+): the flagship race, starts at 8 am, rated ITRA 2 points + 3 mountain points
- Lou pas del Ase (27 km, 820 m D+): starts at 9:30 am
- Lo Clapas (17 km, 410 m D+): starts at 10:30 am
- La Veillade dels Barons (10 km, 250 m D+): semi-night race, starts at 8 pm on Saturday evening
- Ame mes Esclops (15 km, 410 m D+): hike, starts at 9 am
Children's race
A non-competitive children's race is organized on Saturday from 6:30 pm to 7:30 pm for 5-11 year olds, allowing the youngest to join the celebration.
An eco-responsible event
The Trail de la Margeride is an event mindful of the environment, driven by values of respect for nature and the territory. The courses are designed to minimize the impact on the sensitive natural environments of Margeride. The organization combines sporting, cultural, and economic dimensions for local development.
Permanent Trail Areas
In addition to the annual event, the area offers a network of permanent Trail Areas with 7 marked routes from 8 to 40 km, accessible all year round to discover Margeride by running. Collective training trail mornings are also organized during the summer.
