About Un Brin de Court Film Festival
Every year, the Théâtre du Backstep hosts "Un Brin de Court," a showcase for fiction films under three minutes from across the globe. Both a professional jury and the audience cast their votes to decide the winners of the competition. The festival is organized by the Club Audiovisuel de Vichy—an association established in 1994—in partnership with the Théâtre du Backstep and Francophonie en Auvergne Bourbonnais.
This event serves as the successor to the Vichy Short Film Festival, which ran from 2009 to 2016, and has been operating under its new name since November 2025.

Friday, November 20th

Two themes guide the 2026 competition: an open theme and a set theme, "resistance." We received 733 films from 70 countries, with 67 selected for competition across three categories (open theme, set theme, and youth screenings). Starting November 15th, the festival also expands to other locations throughout the Allier, including an opening event at the CAVILAM Alliance Française in Vichy linked to the Francophonie Summit.
