Un Petit Tour en Franche-Comté: Culture on the Move
“Un Petit Tour en Franche-Comté” is a traveling show project that journeys through the rural communes and medium-sized towns of the Territoire de Belfort and Franche-Comté, bringing live culture closer to the inhabitants. Rooted in regional identity, this show offers an artistic and sensory journey through the natural, historical, and human riches of the region.
A Show Rooted in Regional Identity
The performance blends traditional music, popular tales, and theatrical scenes to tell the story of Franche-Comté: its deep forests, its rivers, its cheese-making know-how, its Franche-Comté architecture, and its legendary figures. The artists, long-time collaborators, engage the audience, making each performance unique depending on the commune visited.
Traveling as an Artistic Principle
The itinerant nature is not a constraint but an affirmed artistic choice. Each commune hosts the show in an emblematic location—village square, community hall, castle courtyard, renovated barn—and the performance adapts to the local context. In Beaucourt, an industrial town born from the Japy watchmaking genius, the show incorporates the working-class memory and the history of a city that forged the identity of the Territoire de Belfort.
A Project Open to All Audiences
The show is designed for all ages, with particular attention paid to families and young audiences. Participatory activities before and after the performance allow spectators to better engage with the themes addressed. School performances, offered during the day, allow children from rural communes to access quality cultural offerings without leaving their territory.
A Unifying Project for Rural Territories
By touring the communes of the Territoire de Belfort and Franche-Comté, “Un Petit Tour en Franche-Comté” helps reduce inequalities in access to culture between urban and rural areas. This type of traveling show, supported by local authorities and regional cultural networks, embodies a democratic and popular vision of artistic creation.
