Summer open-air cultural evenings at Parc Gautier in L'Isle-sur-la-Sorgue
Each summer, Parc Gautier in L'Isle-sur-la-Sorgue hosts « Un Soir au Parc » (An Evening at the Park), the summer open-air cultural program offered by the City. At the Théâtre de Verdure, under the park's trees, a succession of astonishing, moving, funny, and passionate evenings take place: concerts, theatre shows, opera, cinema… These summer evenings are free and open to all (limited seating), within the park's green setting, in the heart of the antique dealers' town.
L'Isle-sur-la-Sorgue is not only the capital of antiques: it is also a town that enlivens its summers with a rich cultural program. Each year, the City offers « Un Soir au Parc », a series of open-air evenings at the Théâtre de Verdure in Parc Gautier, avenue de la Libération. Concerts, theatre, opera, and cinema share the bill throughout the summer, in a leafy and friendly setting.
« Un Soir au Parc » stands out for its eclectic program, accessible to all. The City's Culture & Local Life Department combines music (jazz, French chanson, tribute concerts, world music), theatre and comedy shows, opera, and cinema screenings. The evenings, free and open to all within the limit of available seats, generally take place in the evening, in the cool air, when the Provençal heat subsides. Families, residents, and visitors settle on the lawn or the stands of the Théâtre de Verdure to enjoy the show.
Nestled in L'Isle-sur-la-Sorgue, the « Comtadine Venice » born from the Fontaine de Vaucluse, Parc Gautier offers an ideal tree-lined setting for open-air evenings. Its Théâtre de Verdure, an open-air stage surrounded by greenery, hosts most of the city's summer program.
Summer in L'Isle-sur-la-Sorgue is a season of intense cultural and tourist life. In addition to the « Un Soir au Parc » evenings, the town lives to the rhythm of its antique dealers and flea market vendors, its famous Sunday morning market, its terrace restaurants, and its art galleries. The large International Antiques & Flea Market Fair in summer also attracts an international clientele. The surrounding villages — Fontaine-de-Vaucluse, Gordes, the Luberon — complete the tourist offer of one of Provence's most beautiful territories. « Un Soir au Parc » naturally fits into this context of Provençal art of living.
The summer program « Un Soir au Parc » returns to Parc Gautier in L'Isle-sur-la-Sorgue for summer 2026. At the Théâtre de Verdure, the City offers new free open-air evenings: concerts, theatre, opera, and cinema. The details of the 2026 dates and shows are gradually being unveiled on the City's website.
