The magic of Christmas in Meuse
Each year, the Verdun Christmas Village transforms the heart of the city of peace into an enchanting place. Organized by Verdun Expo Meuse, this event has become, over the editions, the unmissable meeting point for the end-of-year holidays in the Meuse department, attracting visitors from all over the Grand Est region and beyond.
A magical village in the city center
From the beginning of December to December 24th, the Christmas Village sets up in the Verdun city center with its wooden chalets and decorated marquees. The illuminated alleys invite strolling, creating a warm and festive atmosphere that delights young and old alike. The careful decor, the fairy lights, and the decorated fir trees contribute to the magic of the event.
Craftsmanship and local products
The chalets host numerous local artisans and creators who offer original and traditional gift ideas: handmade jewelry, Christmas decorations, candles, scented soaps, textiles, fashion accessories, and many other creations. Local producers are also present with their gastronomic specialties: foie gras, confectionery, honey, jams, and other delicacies from the Meuse and Lorraine region.
Entertainment for the whole family
The Christmas Village offers a rich and varied entertainment program throughout December. Children can meet Santa Claus in his grotto, participate in creative workshops, and attend magical street shows. Advent concerts punctuate the weekends, offering quality musical moments in the Christmas spirit.
Street shows and entertainment
Street performance troupes animate the village alleys with performances combining magic, juggling, stilt walking, and fantastic characters. This free and spontaneous entertainment adds an enchanted dimension to the stroll and surprises visitors around every corner.
A unifying event
The Verdun Christmas Village plays a major role in the economic and cultural animation of the city during the holiday season. It helps boost local commerce and attract visitors to the city center, creating a beneficial synergy for all Verdun economic stakeholders.
