When Ski Meets Electro in Haute Maurienne
Born from the desire to extend the winter season with a unifying event, the Vertical Music Experience was created in Valfréjus, a family-friendly and authentic resort in the Maurienne valley, Savoie. The idea is simple but highly effective: combine spring skiing on a human-scale ski area with performances by national DJs, all in a relaxed and festive atmosphere.
The concept immediately appeals to a public of mountain and electronic music enthusiasts, who come to enjoy the last snows while vibing to the rhythm of wild sets. The Place du Thabor, in the heart of the resort, becomes the main stage for free evening concerts, while the slopes and altitude restaurants host musical entertainment throughout the day.
An Exceptional Alpine Setting
Valfréjus offers an exceptional natural setting between the Fréjus pass and Mont Thabor, with breathtaking panoramas of the Haute Maurienne peaks. The ski area, culminating at 2,737 meters, often benefits from generous snowfall in April—sometimes over two meters of fresh snow—and remarkable sunshine, creating ideal conditions for an outdoor festival.
The resort, accessible from Modane via a winding road of a few kilometers, retains an intimate character that fosters conviviality. Festival-goers can stay on-site with special "festival" offers including accommodation and ski passes, starting from €206 for three people for two nights.
A Quality Electro Lineup
The Vertical Music Experience features established artists from the French electronic scene. The 2026 edition welcomes Joachim Garraud, a legendary producer and DJ known for his immersive and futuristic shows, Oriska, resident DJ of the NRJ Extravadance show specializing in house and techno, as well as Mayla K and Loran, emerging artists accustomed to high-altitude stages. DJ sets follow one another from morning to night, from snowy slopes to sunny terraces, and to free open-air evenings.
A Strong Partnership with NRJ
The festival benefits from the support of NRJ, France's leading music radio station, which promotes the event and contributes to the artistic programming. This partnership gives the Vertical Music Experience national visibility and attracts an audience beyond just the Maurienne valley.
