Visionsonic: Where Sound Meets Image in Créteil

The Visionsonic festival is one of the most unique events on the creative scene in Val-de-Marne. Organized in Créteil and supported by the collective Pixels Transversaux in collaboration with the Maison des arts de Créteil (MAC), this festival has established itself as a space for research and presentation dedicated to artistic forms at the crossroads of sound, image, and new technologies.

A Festival at the Frontier of Disciplines

Visionsonic's uniqueness lies in its desire to go beyond established artistic categories. The festival hosts artists and collectives who refuse to separate sound creation from visual creation, producing works where electronic music, visual arts, experimental cinema, and live performance merge into a total experience for the spectator.

Audiovisual performances are at the heart of the programming: artists manipulate sound synthesis and image generation in real-time, creating unique sensory landscapes with each performance. Live cinema—the practice where a musician improvises live to images—holds a special place, exploring the dialogue between the heritage of silent film and contemporary electronic tools.

Immersive Installations

Beyond performances, Visionsonic offers immersive digital installations that invite visitors to explore sound and visual environments designed as spaces for free exploration. These works often take advantage of the architecture of the Maison des arts de Créteil rooms, transforming the spaces into sensory volumes.

Workshops and masterclasses complete the program, allowing the curious to learn about digital creation tools—visual generation software, modular sound synthesis, creative programming—under the guidance of invited artists.

Visionsonic is distinguished by its international openness: alongside French creators, the festival regularly invites European and non-European artists, making Créteil a convergence point for the global scene of VJing, experimental electronic music, and generative art.
