A joyful and creative weekend celebrating art in all its forms in Yvré-l'Évêque
The Yvr'Art Festival was born from the desire of the municipality of Yvré-l'Évêque to create a festive and accessible cultural event, in the heart of the town, open to all generations. Organized every year in June on the town hall esplanade, avenue Guy Bouriat, this free festival offers a weekend of artistic discoveries combining visual arts, live performance, circus, crafts, and local creations.
The Yvr'Art Festival's program is designed as an open-air artistic journey. Painters, photographers, sculptors, and visual artists exhibit their works on the town hall esplanade, while murals are created live. Performances and surprise shows punctuate the weekend.
The Cité du cirque du Mans runs circus workshops open to children and families, offering a fun introduction to circus arts. On Sunday, a creator market showcases local crafts, offering original creations and art objects in a structured and friendly cultural setting.
Yvr'Art benefits from the support of the Local Contract for Artistic and Cultural Education (CLÉAC), demonstrating the town's commitment to cultural democratization. The festival contributes to the influence of Yvré-l'Évêque, a town in Sarthe near Le Mans, also known for hosting the Abbaye Royale de l'Épau.
Among the artists who have exhibited in previous editions: painters Laureen Vaxelaire, Christian Retou, Olga Barte, Alain Auduc, François-Joseph Durand, photographer Paul Hamelin, and sculptor Lise Del Medico.
The Yvr'Art Festival returns on Saturday, June 6 and Sunday, June 7, 2026 on the esplanade of Yvré-l'Évêque town hall, with a completely renewed edition. On the program: live mural frescoes by the Le Mans duo Mojito Fraise, circus workshops and shows with Le Plongeoir — Pôle national Cirque Le Mans, a creators' market, performances and surprises throughout the weekend. The event is entirely free and open to all generations.
The Yvr'Art Festival returns on June 6 and 7, 2026 on the esplanade of Yvré-l'Évêque town hall, conceived as a joyful, creative event open to all generations. The commune of Sarthe, in partnership with its local cultural stakeholders, celebrates art in all its forms: visual arts, live performance, circus, crafts, and local creations.
The Le Mans duo Mojito Fraise (Mathilda Conversy and Laura Villedieu), specialists in street art and frescoes, will create live mural frescoes on the town hall esplanade throughout the weekend.
The festival hosts the Balades from Le Plongeoir — Pôle national Cirque Le Mans, on Saturday, June 6 on the Place de l'Hôtel de Ville. The program includes: a time to discover circus arts practices followed by a circus show, with free access, no reservation required. These practice and performance times are part of the long-standing partnership between Le Plongeoir and the Culture department of Yvré-l'Évêque.
On Sunday, June 7, the town hall esplanade will transform into a creators' market. The town hall launched a call for applications from creators offering original and local creations — selection based on the quality of the creations, their originality, and their coherence with the spirit of the festival.
The weekend is punctuated by performances, demonstrations, exhibitions by painters, photographers, sculptors, and plastic artists, and convivial moments for all generations. The festival is part of the Local Artistic and Cultural Education Contract (CLÉAC), demonstrating the commune's commitment to cultural democratization.
Exact times will be communicated by Yvré-l'Évêque town hall closer to the festival.
