Country, rockabilly and retro festival at Chalet Brand in Liévin
Since 2023, the 48 Heures Country Rétro festival has brought together fans of country music, rockabilly, and retro culture every August at the Chalet Brand in Liévin, Pas-de-Calais. Organized by the association Motards de l'Espoir Liévin, this festival has a charitable purpose: all profits are donated to children with disabilities.
The festival offers a rich musical program over three days, from Friday to Sunday. Country and rockabilly bands from Northern France, Brittany, and the Paris region perform on stage. Among the artists who have participated in previous editions are Spunny Boys, Snakes in the Boots, Chris Coolson, and Rick Cavan, offering a vibrant snapshot of the French country scene.
The country dance workshops are one of the festival's highlights. Six instructors take turns over the three days to teach choreography to participants of all levels. While the workshops take place indoors, an outdoor dance floor with music on CD allows dancers to practice freely outside.
The 48 Heures Country Rétro is not just about music. The festival creates a true retro American atmosphere with an exhibition of vintage and American vehicles, delighting car enthusiasts and completing the immersion into country and rockabilly culture.
Admission to the festival is free, in keeping with the event's spirit of solidarity. On-site catering is available throughout the weekend. The Motards de l'Espoir Liévin association mobilizes numerous volunteers to ensure the welcome, logistics, and warm atmosphere that have made this event famous.
