The free seaside festival in Dunkerque
Since 2017, La Bonne Aventure has taken over the sea wall of Malo-les-Bains in Dunkerque every summer for three days and three nights of entirely free festivities. This festival, created by the team behind Nuits Secrètes in partnership with the Dunkerque Urban Community, embodies a spirit of conviviality, sharing, and musical discovery by the sea.
True to the DNA of Nuits Secrètes, La Bonne Aventure offers its own secret routes: mysterious itineraries where festival-goers discover concerts by artists whose names remain secret until the last moment, in unusual locations within the Dunkerque urban area. This dimension of adventure and surprise is at the heart of the festival's identity.
The areas around the sea wall transform into a true open-air museum thanks to "Beach Arts": artistic installations, performances, participatory workshops, and ephemeral creations take over the seafront, blending contemporary art with a seaside ambiance.
La Bonne Aventure's program covers a wide musical spectrum: rap, electro, rock, chanson, world music. Previous editions have hosted artists like MC Solaar, Vald, The Avener, and many emerging talents. The festival also offers family activities: bike rides, conferences, rollerblading, and children's entertainment.
La Bonne Aventure stands out for its 100% free nature and its commitment to inclusion. The festival implements accessibility measures and engages in an eco-responsible approach.
The 9th edition of La Bonne Aventure takes place from June 19 to 21, 2026 on the Malo-les-Bains dike in Dunkerque. Three days of entirely free concerts, secret routes, Beach Arts, and family activities, featuring headliners Gaëtan Roussel, Pomme, Biga*Ranx, Stand High Patrol, and Bekar.
From June 19 to 21, 2026, La Bonne Aventure returns to the Malo-les-Bains dike and the port of Dunkerque for 72 hours of celebration by the North Sea. The festival, organized by the Les Nuits Secrètes association in partnership with the Communauté Urbaine de Dunkerque Grand Littoral, offers, as every year, an entirely free format, open to all audiences, from families to music lovers and curious passers-by.
The 2026 edition brings together headliners from the French and international scene: Gaëtan Roussel closing on Sunday, Pomme Saturday evening, Biga*Ranx, Stand High Patrol (DJ set), Bekar, Perceval, as well as Ata Kak, legend of Ghanaian highlife. The program mixes chanson, rap, reggae, electro, dub, and hybrid music, with particular attention paid to emerging artists and regional scenes.
The festival unfolds across several stages: the Scène du Centenaire (Centenaire Square), the Scène Front de Mer on the dike, and the Embarcadère. Each stage offers concerts, DJ sets, and performances from noon to midnight with free access.
A hallmark of the festival, the Secret Routes invite festival-goers to embark for a destination kept secret until the last moment, to discover the concert of a mystery artist. The Beach Arts, meanwhile, transform the dike and Centenaire Square into an open-air museum, with seven visual installations scattered across the site.
La Bonne Aventure is conceived as an intergenerational event: electronic workshops for children aged 3 to 12 (with Materlait), a play area, shows for young audiences, bicycle parking (ADAV), and enhanced support for people with disabilities by the APAHM association. Seven local associations are mobilized to make the site an inclusive and respectful space.
Full program on the three stages (Scène du Centenaire, Scène Front de Mer, Embarcadère). In addition to concerts: Secret Routes to destinations kept secret, seven visual installations of Beach Arts, electronic workshops for children, Rookie Roller Dancing, and The Oasis module (arts and ideas on ecology). Precise schedules will be published on labonneaventurefestival.com/programme/ closer to the festival.
