International street arts festival in Corbie
The Fête dans la Rue in Corbie is an international street arts festival that, since 1995, has transformed the city center of this Picardy town into a huge open-air stage. Organized by the municipality of Corbie, this free event brings together between 20,000 and 25,000 spectators each year around an eclectic program mixing street performances, concerts, parades, traditional and fairground games, a children's village, an artisanal market, and a sustainable development area. A true popular and festive event, the Fête dans la Rue has become a must-see event in the Somme and Hauts-de-France regions.
Since 1995, the Fête dans la Rue has been Corbie's major summer event. Every year, on a Saturday in late June, the town center is transformed to host one of the most important street festivals in the Somme. The event, supported by the municipality and the town's cultural department, has grown over the years to become a regional benchmark for street arts.
The Fête dans la Rue offers a high-quality program, mixing local companies and international artists. From 3:30 PM to 11:30 PM, the streets, squares, and parks of Corbie come alive with various performances: street theater, circus, acrobatics, giant puppets, walking bands, dance, magic, and performances of all kinds. Parades and processions punctuate the afternoon and evening, creating a joyful and surprising atmosphere.
Beyond the artistic performances, the Fête dans la Rue is a true festive village. A medieval area recreates the atmosphere of yesteryear with artisans, knights, and period entertainment. The children's village offers creative workshops, games, and activities for the youngest. The artisanal and sustainable development market showcases local know-how and eco-responsible initiatives. Traditional and fairground games add a touch of nostalgia and conviviality.
True to its spirit of openness and sharing, the Fête dans la Rue is completely free. This free admission, rare for an event of this scale, is at the heart of the festival's philosophy: to offer everyone, families, young people, seniors, a moment of culture, meeting, and celebration, without financial barriers. With 20,000 to 25,000 spectators at each edition, the Fête dans la Rue in Corbie is a model of a popular and accessible festival.
Located in the heart of the Val de Somme, a few kilometers from Amiens, the Fête dans la Rue contributes to the cultural influence of Corbie and its region. The event is supported by the community of communes of the Val de Somme, the Department of the Somme, and the Hauts-de-France Region, testifying to its importance in the Picardy cultural landscape.
The 32nd edition of Fête dans la Rue in Corbie will take place on Saturday, June 27, 2026. The town center will once again host thousands of spectators for a free day of street performances, parades, activities, and conviviality.
