The immersive house and techno experience at the top of the Alps
Abode On The Snow is an immersive electronic music festival that takes over Val Thorens, the highest ski resort in Europe, every January for eight days of skiing, snowboarding, and international DJ performances. Organized by the British label Abode Records, the event features a cutting-edge program focused on house, melodic techno, and underground music, with open-air DJ sets on snowy slopes, in intimate clubs, and during legendary après-ski sessions that last until the early hours.
Abode On The Snow was born from the British label Abode Records' desire to bring the energy of its London parties to an exceptional Alpine setting. For several years, the festival has been held in Val Thorens, in the heart of the 3 Vallées, for a full week of musical and sporting immersion in January, when the resort enjoys its best snow conditions.
The concept appeals to an international audience, predominantly British and European, passionate about underground electronic music and winter sports. The event attracts hundreds of festival-goers each year to experience a unique event where ski sessions meet DJ sets at altitude and wild nights in the resort's clubs.
Abode On The Snow's programming stands out for its resolutely focused approach to house, melodic techno, and underground electronic music. Far from commercial festivals, the event favors artists at the forefront of these genres, offering an authentic and demanding musical experience.
The 2026 edition featured artists such as GW Harrison, Robbie Doherty, Blondi, Evie, Jamie Aramayo, Joss Dean, Murphy's Law, Ozzie Guven, Ryan Resso, and Tommy Phillips, confirming the festival's cutting-edge artistic direction.
One of Abode On The Snow's major assets is its exceptional duration of eight days, allowing festival-goers to combine a real ski trip with a full week of musical programming. Days are dedicated to skiing and snowboarding on the 600 km of slopes in the 3 Vallées, while afternoons see the first musical sessions kick off in the high-altitude bars and terraces of the resort.
Evenings continue in Val Thorens' clubs and iconic venues, with DJ sets stretching into the early hours of the morning. The festival's long format creates a unique community atmosphere, where festival-goers forge bonds over the days between descents on the slopes and dancing nights.
Abode On The Snow is strictly for over 18s, with photo ID required for entry. This adult-focused approach contributes to the festival's mature and relaxed atmosphere, where music and the mountains are the true protagonists.
