About Artist's Book Festival
Every year, the Artist's Book Festival brings together authors, visual artists, and publishers in Lucinges, Haute-Savoie, to celebrate the artist's book—a unique medium where text and visual art engage in a creative dialogue. The event takes place at the Archipel Butor, a heritage site comprising the Manoir des livres, a writer's house, and a public library dedicated to Michel Butor, the renowned travel writer who lived in Lucinges and created over 3,500 artist's books during his lifetime.
The weekend features a fair where visitors can meet creators in person, alongside exhibitions, guided tours of the site, and hands-on workshops (including engraving, monotype, and embossing) open to everyone.
Artist's Book Festival — edition 2026
The 11th edition celebrates the centenary of the birth of Michel Butor (1926-2026). The fair brings together authors, visual artists, and publishers of artist's books for a series of exhibitions, meet-and-greets, lectures, and guided tours of the Manoir des livres. The youth program features a show and a concert, while two hands-on workshops (monotype and embossing) are available for online booking.
