The annual meeting for amateur theatre in Isère

Created in 2004 on the initiative of the Departmental Committee of Isère of the FNCTA (National Federation of Amateur Theatre Clubs), the festival Les Tréteaux de Voiron has become over the years a major cultural event in the Pays voironnais and the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region. Every year in October, the Salle des fêtes de Voiron hosts selected amateur theatre companies from across the country for a week.

A rich and diverse program

The festival's selection committee makes it a point of honor to promote the quality and diversity of the shows offered. While plays are central to the programming, all forms of theatrical performances are represented: comedy, drama, contemporary theatre, classical theatre, original creations, performances, and hybrid forms. Each edition thus offers a rich panel of live performances, accessible to everyone, celebrating the plurality of scenic expressions.

A festival committed to transmission

Beyond the evening performances, Les Tréteaux de Voiron places great importance on outreach and awareness-raising for young audiences. School performances are organized to allow students to discover amateur theatre under professional conditions, and interventions in schools complement this educational program. This pedagogical dimension is what makes the festival unique and contributes to training the audiences of tomorrow.

National reach

By bringing together troupes from all over France, Les Tréteaux de Voiron offers a lively and dynamic panorama of French amateur theatre. The festival highlights the remarkable work of these companies who, with passion and rigor, bring live performance to their respective regions. Supported by the City of Voiron, the Department of Isère, and the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes Region, the festival also benefits from the national network of the FNCTA, which federates over 1,500 companies and 30,000 amateur actors across France.

A week of conviviality and sharing

Les Tréteaux de Voiron is also a wonderful space for meetings and exchanges between actors, directors, technicians, and spectators. The moments of conviviality after the performances, the exchanges with the artists, and the warm atmosphere of the Salle des fêtes make each edition a human as well as artistic experience. The festival attracts a loyal and curious audience, captivated by the freshness and authenticity of amateur theatre.
