2026
About Écoute(s)
The Festival Écoute(s) is dedicated to radio and sound creation in Grenoble. Organized by the association Le Rhume du Son, it is held every two years at Le Prunier Sauvage and surrounding venues in the Mistral district. The first edition took place in April 2018, followed by 2020, 2022, and 2024, with the fifth edition scheduled for October 16, 17, and 18, 2026.
The program includes listening sessions of sound art, performances where sound takes center stage, radio production workshops, meetings with artists and producers, conferences, and live radio broadcasts. An open call for submissions precedes each edition, with a public listening committee selecting the works and curating the collective listening sessions. Le Rhume du Son describes itself as "a space for sharing experiences between amateurs and professionals" and presents its programming as "collective and volunteer-run."

The 5th edition of the Festival Écoute(s) will take place on October 16th, 17th, and 18th, 2026, at Le Prunier Sauvage and surrounding venues in Grenoble. 5th edition, October 16th, 17th, and 18th, 2026
Festival Écoute(s) returns for its fifth edition from October 16th to 18th, 2026, at Le Prunier Sauvage and nearby locations in Grenoble. Le Rhume du Son announced these dates on their website and via a screen-printed poster unveiled on June 11th, 2026, produced by the Fluo workshop. As a biennial event, this edition follows the previous one held in November 2024.
Program not yet released
As of mid-August 2026, the "Next Edition 2026" page on the official website states: "The program is currently being finalized. You will find it here soon!" No schedule, artist names, or ticket prices have been announced at this stage, and the box office is not yet open.
Open call for submissions: "Creuse ton sillon" and "Le rire"
As in previous years, an open listening committee collects, reviews, and selects submissions from the open call to curate collective listening sessions. Two themes were proposed for 2026. "Creuse ton sillon" explores the grooves of vinyl, plowed fields, and wrinkles, with a maximum duration of 52 minutes. "Le rire" seeks works that provoke laughter or explore humor, with a 5-minute limit. Submissions were accepted until March 15th, 2026; the listening committee remains open to new members at [email protected].

A biennial festival of radio and sound art
The Festival Écoute(s) is organized by Le Rhume du Son, a Grenoble-based association that brings together enthusiasts of radio and sound creation. The collective formed in early 2017 to promote the creation and broadcasting of radio documentaries, launching its first four-day edition in April 2018 across the Saint-Bruno district, including the library, the square, Parc Marliave, and the bar L'Engrenage. Since then, the festival has returned every two years: 2020, 2022, 2024, and 2026 for the fifth edition.
Le Prunier Sauvage and the Mistral district
Since 2022, the festival has been held at Le Prunier Sauvage, located at 63 rue Albert Reynier in the Mistral district, often expanding to nearby venues such as the Maison des Habitants Anatole France in 2024 and the Le Ciel concert hall in the city center for that year's Sunday program. The 2026 lineup is set to take place at "Le Prunier Sauvage & surroundings."
What to expect
The festival features curated listening sessions, performances where sound is more than just background, radio and sound workshops, artist talks, conferences, and live radio broadcasts. An open call for submissions precedes each edition, where a public listening committee reviews and selects the works to build the collective listening sessions.
Collective and volunteer-run programming
Le Rhume du Son defines itself as "a space for sharing experiences between amateurs and professionals" and describes the festival's programming as "collective and volunteer-run, supported by a team open to new members." Between editions, the collective hosts a regular radio show on Radio Campus Grenoble and Radio St Féréol, and organizes occasional listening events.
