Youth cinema in Grenoble
Le Méliès is a non-profit art-house cinema affiliated with the Ligue de l'enseignement de l'Isère, located in the Caserne de Bonne district. It holds three official labels: Recherche et Découverte, Jeune Public, and Patrimoine et Répertoire. Since 2013, it has organized the Voir Ensemble festival every autumn, a highlight of its work with young audiences in Grenoble and the surrounding area.
A competition and three juries
Voir Ensemble is a competitive festival: new films are evaluated by three spectator juries (Children, Youth, and Socio-cultural), in addition to a public choice award. The Children and Youth juries are recruited annually through an application process at the cinema.
A diverse program
The program blends professional cinema with amateur practice, crossing genres, eras, origins, and art forms: competition films, previews, special screenings such as cine-concerts, storytelling, or dance and cinema sessions, as well as special events, workshops, and exhibitions. Each edition features a patron. Past guests include Michel Ocelot, Rémi Chayé, Benjamin Renner, Jean-François Laguionie, Juan Antin, Florence Miailhe, Pierre-Luc Granjon, Benoît Chieux, Denis Do, Arnaud Demuynck, Koji Yamamura, Lorenzo Mattotti, Sébastien Laudenbach, Chiara Malta, and Charlie Belin. Sophie Roze was the patron of the 2025 edition.
