About Jazz Festival Grenoble
Grenoble Festi' Jazz, known as the Grenoble Alpes Métropole Jazz Festival until 2025, is the flagship event of the Jazz Club de Grenoble, held every autumn since 2005. Over the course of two weeks, about ten partner venues across the Grenoble metropolitan area host a diverse range of concerts. The program spans contemporary jazz, swing, soul, funk, Brazilian rhythms, afro-jazz, and world music, featuring both international stars and local talent from the regional scene.
Jazz Festival Grenoble — edition 2026
The Jazz Club de Grenoble festival celebrates its 22nd edition from September 26th to October 11th, 2026, under a new name: Grenoble Festi' Jazz. Twelve concerts and a masterclass across 10 venues in 8 metropolitan municipalities, featuring Charlotte Planchou, Célia Kameni, Léon Phal, Anna Setton, Vincent Peirani, and Estelle Perrault.
22nd Edition: The festival becomes Grenoble Festi' Jazz
The Jazz Club de Grenoble festival runs from Saturday, September 26th to Sunday, October 11th, 2026, and is rebranding. Created in 2005 as the "Festival de jazz local d'automne" and later renamed the "Grenoble Alpes Métropole Jazz Festival," it is now called "Grenoble Festi' Jazz." The logo and poster were designed by Lyla Gomes, a second-year student in communication product design at the Lycée Argouges in Grenoble.
"This 2026 edition is presented with a new name and a new logo. Created in 2005, this event was originally called the 'Festival de jazz local d'automne' and took place over five days at the Salle Edmond-Vigne in Fontaine. Over time, it expanded to other partner venues, first on the left bank of the Drac, then more broadly across the metropolitan area, with a name that was difficult to pronounce and, above all, hard to remember: Grenoble Alpes Métropole Jazz Festival," writes Salvatore Origlio, president of the Jazz Club de Grenoble, in the program.
At the Borders of Jazz
The 2026 edition's theme is "At the Borders of Jazz": a program that blends jazz with chanson, popular music, Latin rhythms, and African-American traditions. Twelve concerts and a masterclass are spread across 10 venues in 8 municipalities: Crolles (Espace Paul-Jargot), Fontaine (Salle Edmond-Vigne, La Source), Grenoble (Museum Auditorium, Salle Stendhal), La Tronche (La Faïencerie), Noyarey (Salle Poly'Sons), Poisat (Espace Léo-Lagrange), Saint-Égrève (La Vence Scène), and Varces (L'Oriel).
Two vocal ensembles are on the program: Sparkling Voices on October 3rd in Noyarey and Les Grandes Gueules on October 4th in Varces. On October 7th in Fontaine, Camille Laïly will sing "Crépuscule" with a choir of over 80 students from Jules-Vallès Middle School, aged 12 to 16, conducted by Estelle Vernay. They have worked all year on arrangements written specifically for them, and entry is free. On October 10th, the Salle Edmond-Vigne turns into a dance floor with the Zaza Desiderio Sextet and their Brazilian project, Boca no Beco. The organizing association, founded in 1956, celebrates its 70th anniversary in 2026.

The jazz event of the Grenoble metropolitan area
Created in 2005 by the Jazz Club de Grenoble, the Grenoble Alpes Métropole Jazz Festival has become over the years an essential event for jazz lovers in the Alps. Every autumn, for two weeks between late September and mid-October, the festival takes over about ten partner venues spread across eight to ten towns in the Grenoble metropolitan area, from Fontaine to Grenoble, including Échirolles, Saint-Martin-d'Hères, Meylan, Seyssinet-Pariset, and many other municipalities.
An eclectic and demanding program
The Grenoble Alpes Métropole Jazz Festival stands out for its program that embraces jazz in all its diversity. Each edition is structured around three complementary musical axes: international and multicultural jazz, with artists from all over the world; the French scene, which highlights the most promising talents and established artists of French jazz; and the local scene, which showcases musicians from the region who have gained regional or national recognition.
Over the years, the festival has hosted artists from very diverse backgrounds, mixing contemporary jazz, swing, bossa nova, Caribbean music, afro-jazz, soul, and funk. Masterclasses are regularly offered, allowing the public to learn or improve their skills alongside professional musicians. Jam sessions complete the program and offer privileged moments of sharing between artists and festival-goers.
A festival rooted in its territory
Supported by the association Jazz Club de Grenoble, founded in 1956 and entirely run by passionate volunteers, the festival is part of a cultural democratization initiative. By taking over municipal performance halls, MJCs (Maison des Jeunes et de la Culture), and cultural spaces throughout the metropolitan area, it allows a wide audience to access quality concerts at affordable prices. This strong territorial presence, supported by Grenoble Alpes Métropole, makes this festival a unifying event that actively contributes to the cultural influence of the Grenoble metropolitan area.
More than twenty years of jazz in the Alps
Since its first edition in 2005, the Grenoble Alpes Métropole Jazz Festival has built a loyal and growing audience while constantly renewing its program. From intimate quartet performances to spectacular big bands, from jazz singers to virtuoso percussionists, each edition offers its share of discoveries and emotions. The festival thus contributes to keeping jazz alive in the Grenoble metropolitan area and to building bridges between musical cultures from around the world.
