Street arts festival in the medieval village of Ardoix
The Au Haz'Art des Rues festival transforms the streets and alleys of Ardoix, a former 12th-century feudal village, into an open-air stage for street arts. In this remarkable heritage setting in northern Ardèche, street theater companies, circus performers, musicians, and artists from all backgrounds take over public spaces to offer free performances to the widest possible audience.
The festival's program emphasizes the diversity of street arts:
All programming is free and open access, in keeping with the spirit of street festivals that aim to make culture accessible to all.
Alongside the performances, the festival hosts a local producers' market offering direct sales of Ardèche regional products: cheeses, artisanal breads, seasonal vegetables, meats, preserves, and other specialties. This market reinforces the festival's local roots and allows visitors to discover the flavors of Ardèche while enjoying the shows.
The village of Ardoix, perched at an altitude of 360 meters in northern Ardèche, preserves the remains of its 12th-century medieval fortifications. Its narrow streets, stone houses, and shaded squares provide a perfect natural backdrop for street arts, creating an intimacy between artists and the public that is the charm of this friendly event.
The festival takes place in the center of the village of Ardoix (07290), in northern Ardèche.
Free admission for all shows and entertainment.
