Since 1974, the Fête des Vendanges de Tain-l'Hermitage has been the popular and festive event marking the start of the grape harvest at the foot of the Hermitage hill, one of France's most prestigious vineyards. Organized by the Comité des Fêtes de Tain-l'Hermitage, this traditional festival is a tribute to the vine, wine, and terroir of the northern Rhône Valley.

Two days of popular festivities

On the third weekend of September, Tain-l'Hermitage buzzes to the rhythm of the Fête des Vendanges. For two days, local winegrowers and producers showcase their wines, cured meats, spices, and other local delicacies. The tasting of the previous vintage allows visitors to discover the latest cuvées from the Hermitage, Crozes-Hermitage, and Saint-Joseph appellations.

The Fête des Vendanges perpetuates traditions dear to the inhabitants of Tain-l'Hermitage:
