Dance, chill and groovy music festival by the Dronne river
The Aubeterre Summer Festival takes over the Pré Louis every summer, a field located by the Dronne river, at the entrance of Aubeterre-sur-Dronne. For three days in August, the festival offers open-air evenings from 6 PM to 11 PM in a festive and relaxed "guinguette" atmosphere. The natural setting, between meadow and river, provides an enchanting backdrop for concerts featuring both local and international artists.
Each evening of the festival features three local artists as opening acts and three international artists as headliners. The programming favors festive and danceable music genres: dance, chill, groovy, bossa nova, jazz, and funk. The 2025 edition hosted internationally renowned artists such as Philippe Cohen Solal (founder of Gotan Project) accompanied by Edmundo Carneiro, Matt Bianco, and Shakatak.
The festival describes itself as "a guinguette evening, a field by the river, a summer night... An enchanted and festive interlude". The Pré Louis, located on Route de Ribérac, offers an ideal outdoor space for dancing and enjoying concerts in a relaxed atmosphere. The proximity to the Dronne river and the green setting of Aubeterre-sur-Dronne, one of the Most Beautiful Villages of France, add to the event's charm.
The Aubeterre Summer Festival is a recent event that enriches the summer cultural offerings of Sud Charente. By providing three days of live music in an exceptional setting, the festival is part of the cultural dynamic of Aubeterre-sur-Dronne, a village already rich in events throughout the year. The festival contributes to the tourist attractiveness of the area during the summer season.
