Boulevard de la Rochelle is located right in the city center, very close to the SNCF train station. Free and paid parking is available in the city center. On the day of the fair, some streets are closed to traffic: follow diversions and signage to park-and-ride lots.
By Train: Bar-le-Duc station is served by TGV trains from Paris-Est (approx. 1h15) and TER Grand Est trains from Nancy, Metz, Strasbourg, and Reims. Boulevard de la Rochelle is a few minutes' walk from the station, making the train a very convenient mode of transport for this fair.
By Bus: The urban bus network TUB (Transports Urbains Barisiens) serves the main districts of Bar-le-Duc and neighboring towns. Check the schedules on the website of the Meuse Grand Sud urban community.
Location
The fair is held on Boulevard de la Rochelle and Rue Maginot, 55000 Bar-le-Duc. These two main city center streets, lined with trees and 19th-century buildings, offer a generous space to host the dozens of fair stands.
Opening Hours
The fair is held on Sundays, generally from 8 am to 6 pm. The best choices are made early in the morning at opening. Crowds are highest between 10 am and 2 pm. Check the Bar-le-Duc town hall website for the precise hours of each edition.
Prices
Admission to the fair is completely free. Purchases from merchants and exhibitors are of course paid. Most stands accept cash and credit cards.
Food and Drink
Food stalls are present along the fair route, offering crepes, waffles, sandwiches, fries, and hot drinks. The bakeries, cafes, and restaurants in the center of Bar-le-Duc are also open and welcome you. Take the opportunity to taste the famous gooseberry jam, a specialty of Bar-le-Duc.
Practical Tips
- Prefer public transport or parking on the outskirts, as the city center can be very crowded on the day of the fair.
- Bring warm clothing, as the fair is held outdoors in November.
- Bring a bag or shopping cart to carry your purchases.
- The fair is accessible to strollers and people with reduced mobility (route on sidewalks and road).
