Blablabla Fest: the celebration of the spoken word in Haut Célé
Blablabla Fest is a traveling festival dedicated to the spoken arts, born in Bagnac-sur-Célé in the Lot department. Supported by the Association Festival du Haut Célé, it celebrates storytellers, reciters, narrators, and all lovers of the word through a program mixing theater, storytelling, song, readings, and contemporary forms that place the spoken word at the center of the stage.
A traveling festival between Lot and Aveyron
One of the unique features of Blablabla Fest is its traveling nature. Rather than focusing on a single location, the festival takes over several towns in the Célé valley and its surroundings: Bagnac-sur-Célé, Figeac, Capdenac, Decazeville, Asprières, Cuzac, and Salles-Courbatiès. The shows take place in village halls, village squares, barns, and heritage sites, creating an intimate and friendly atmosphere close to the residents.
A rich and undisciplined program
Each edition of Blablabla Fest brings together about ten artistic teams offering diverse shows: plays, storytelling evenings, vocal performances, musical readings, songs, and unclassifiable stage forms. The festival embraces an undisciplined program, at the crossroads of genres, where the spoken word reigns supreme. An exhibition complements the program, offering a visual dimension to the words.
The second edition thus brought together 10 artistic teams, 1 exhibition, and 11 shows mixing theater, storytelling, and song, with contemporary forms that question and celebrate the power of words.
The 21st Century Vigils
Blablabla Fest defines itself as a gathering for word lovers, an heir to the ancient vigils revisited for the 21st century. The festival offers opportunities to chat, laugh, be moved, remember, and tell stories. Far from large mass festivals, it favors encounters between artists and audiences, in a warm and rural atmosphere where words circulate freely between stage and hall.
Strong territorial roots
Rooted in the Haut Célé region, on the borders of Lot and Aveyron, Blablabla Fest contributes to the cultural animation of rural towns often far from traditional cultural circuits. By bringing performing arts to the heart of villages, the festival weaves a precious link between contemporary artistic creation and local life, making each performance a moment of sharing and conviviality.
