Eclectic free festival at the foot of the medieval village of Cordes-sur-Ciel
The Tif Taf Festival is an eclectic and friendly summer event organized at the Brasserie Auros, at the foot of Cordes-sur-Ciel. Rock, French song, electro and guinguette follow one another over three days in August in a festive and relaxed atmosphere, with a free price. A discovery festival rooted in the brasserie spirit, open to all audiences.
The Tif Taf Festival was born from a simple and generous desire: to offer everyone, without financial barriers, three days of lively and eclectic music in one of the most emblematic sites of the Tarn. Located at the Brasserie Auros, route d'Albi in Cordes-sur-Ciel (81170), the festival benefits from an exceptional setting at the foot of the perched medieval village, listed among the Most Beautiful Villages of France.
The identity of Tif Taf is based on its eclectic and borderless programming. On a single stage, concerts of rock, French song, electro and moments of pure guinguette where popular dancing takes center stage, follow one another. This musical diversity is assumed and claimed: the festival aims to reach a wide audience, from fans of contemporary music to lovers of open-air dancing, including families and those who enjoy artistic discoveries.
The Tif Taf stage aims to be a launchpad for emerging artists and regional bands, while also welcoming established talents capable of creating an event. Each edition mixes local artists from the Albi and Tarn region with proposals from elsewhere, for a program that surprises and unites.
One of the founding principles of Tif Taf is free entry or pay-what-you-want. This philosophy reflects the organizers' conviction that culture must be accessible to everyone, regardless of their means. In a rural area where summer cultural offerings are often concentrated in large cities, Tif Taf chooses openness and sharing.
The Brasserie Auros, the venue for the event, contributes to the festival's friendly atmosphere: craft beers, food, a terrace, and a bar liven up the evenings, making the festival a true living space for the three days.
Cordes-sur-Ciel is one of the best-preserved medieval towns in southwestern France. Founded in 1222 by Raymond VII, Count of Toulouse, this bastide perched on the Puech de Mordagne offers a spectacular panorama of the Tarn Ségala hills. A listed site and labeled Most Beautiful Village of France, it attracts thousands of visitors each summer who appreciate its cobbled streets, its sculpted Gothic houses, and its artisans. The Tif Taf Festival, by taking place at the foot of this gem, offers its festival-goers a unique experience where heritage and modernity naturally coexist.
Organized with the energy of volunteers and the support of Brasserie Auros, the Tif Taf Festival is a collective project rooted in the local life of Cordes-sur-Ciel and its surroundings. Its associative model and spirit of sharing make it an authentic event, far from commercial logic, where the essential remains music and meeting people. Festival-goers find a warm atmosphere, a sincere welcome, and musical discoveries that leave a lasting impression.
