CarnaLaval: Brazil in the heart of Mayenne
Born in 2019 for the 10th anniversary of the association Top Brésil, CarnaLaval is a Brazilian-inspired carnival that enlivens the streets of Laval every year. This spectacular and free event invites Laval residents and visitors to dive into the colorful and rhythmic universe of the Brazilian carnival, in the heart of Mayenne.
A spectacular parade in the city center
The heart of CarnaLaval is a grand parade that crosses the city center of Laval, featuring:
- Four richly decorated floats in the colors of Brazil
- Several sound systems on wheels playing Brazilian and Latin rhythms
- Hundreds of costumed dancers from all over the region
- Musicians and percussionists who make the streets vibrate
Daytime carnival and nighttime carnival
CarnaLaval offers two highlights:
- The daytime carnival (6 PM-7 PM): a festive and family-friendly parade in the streets of the city center
- The illuminated nighttime carnival (9:30 PM-10:30 PM): a magical show where the floats and costumes light up for a magical parade
The CarnaLaval Village at Square de Boston
In addition to the parade, a festive village is set up at Square de Boston, from 3 PM to 11 PM. This village offers entertainment, shows, food, and Brazilian dance introductions, allowing the public to immerse themselves in Brazilian culture throughout the afternoon and evening.
Top Brésil: Brazilian culture in Mayenne
