The Chorus Festival: thirty-eight years of live music
Created in 1988 by the Departmental Council of Hauts-de-Seine, the Chorus Festival has established itself as one of the most popular cultural events in Île-de-France. With over thirty-five editions, it embodies the department's commitment to making culture accessible to the greatest number of people and supporting musical creation in all its diversity.
The festival's mission is twofold: to offer a high-quality lineup with recognized artists from the French and international music scene, and to support emerging artists through the PAPA program (Artist Support and Professionalization Pathway), which allows young talents to perform on the festival's stages and join a structuring professional network.
La Seine Musicale: an exceptional architectural setting
Since its move to La Seine Musicale in Boulogne-Billancourt — this architectural vessel designed by Shigeru Ban and Jean de Gastines, inaugurated in 2017 on the Île Seguin — the Chorus Festival has benefited from a setting worthy of its ambitions. The Patrick Devedjian Auditorium (2,000 seats), the Grande Seine (6,000 seats), the RiFFX studios, and the outdoor Parvis allow for a variety of concert formats, hosting both intimate performances and large festive evenings.
An eclectic and demanding program
The festival is distinguished by the diversity of its programming: contemporary French chanson, pop, soul, afrobeat, rap, world music, jazz, electro... Chorus never sacrifices artistic quality for commercial ease. Artists such as Alain Souchon, Lenny Kravitz, M, Renaud, Ours, Juliette Armanet, Angélique Kidjo, Fatoumata Diawara, Stromae, and Orelsan have marked various editions of the festival with their presence.
Chorus for Children: culture from the youngest age
The children's program — Chorus des enfants — is an essential component of the festival, with nine musical shows specially designed for the youngest, spread across the four stages. This focus on intergenerational cultural transmission is one of the festival's founding values.
The 2025 edition: a year of pause
Due to budget constraints affecting all French local authorities, the Departmental Council of Hauts-de-Seine has decided to suspend the Chorus Festival in 2025. This decision was met with regret by the festival's many fans, who nevertheless welcomed the promise of the festival's return in 2026.
The 2026 edition: a grand return
The 38th edition of the Chorus Festival of Hauts-de-Seine will take place from April 10 to 12, 2026 at La Seine Musicale. With over 60 artists on four iconic stages, the festival makes its grand return with a lineup featuring Louane, Fatoumata Diawara, Bertrand Belin, Dakeez, La Mano 1.9, and Nono la Grinta, among others. Ticketing is open from 34 euros, in the spirit of accessibility that marks the festival.
