Cinéma sous les Étoiles, the 7th art in the open air in the Ardèche villages

Cinéma sous les Étoiles is a unique open-air cinema festival organized by La Maison de l'Image in Aubenas. Every summer, the team travels through southern Ardèche with a cinema truck to offer big-screen screenings in over 50 villages in the region.

More than 70 screenings in 50 villages

Each season, the festival offers more than 70 open-air cinema screenings, spread across the villages of southern Ardèche. Towns such as Lanas, Vesseaux, Labeaume, Genestelle, and Villeneuve-de-Berg host these summer screenings. Every evening, families and friends gather at dusk to share a film on the big screen, in what the festival calls "the world's largest cinema hall".

A selection of the year's films

The program features a selection of the year's films carefully chosen by the team at La Maison de l'Image. Comedies, dramas, animated films, documentaries: diversity is on the agenda to satisfy all audiences. The screenings are accompanied by introductions and sometimes debates, enriching the cinematic experience.

A magical outdoor moment

The Cinéma sous les Étoiles experience is unique: settling down outdoors, under the starry Ardèche sky, to watch a film on the big screen. Spectators are invited to bring warm clothing to fully enjoy this nocturnal magic. The atmosphere is that of a village cinema, friendly and warm, where the show continues under the celestial vault.

A major cultural player in southern Ardèche

La Maison de l'Image, based in Aubenas, is the cultural organization behind this festival for many years. An association dedicated to the dissemination and education of visual arts, it works throughout the year to make cinema accessible to all audiences in the Ardèche region, with particular attention to rural areas far from cinemas.
