About Courants d'Art
ℹ️ Festival discontinued in Cattenom. Created in 2017 by the Communauté de Communes de Cattenom et Environs (CCCE), the Festival Courants d'Art held two editions of live performances and street arts on the Esplanade de Cattenom (Moselle), in 2017 and then in June 2018. No new edition has been organized since. The CCCE now focuses its cultural programming on other events (theatre festival « Ici ou là », annual Grand Spectacle, support for the Festival Étrange-Grande).

Two editions of street arts in Cattenom (2017-2018)
Organized by the Communauté de Communes de Cattenom et Environs (CCCE), the Festival Courants d'Art offered a weekend of free live performances on the Esplanade de Cattenom, in Moselle. The program blended music from here and elsewhere, street theater, dance, and festive parades, with renowned companies such as Transe Express and Artonik.
The 2018 edition, the second and last documented, took place on June 16 and 17, 2018. Saturday evening notably hosted « La Fanfare Couche Tard » (music from Eastern Europe, klezmer, Balkans) then « Les Tambours de la Muerte » (a show mixing theater, puppets, music, stilt dancing, and pyrotechnics). On Sunday afternoon, the « Red Line Crossers » parade (a blend of Breton music and hip-hop dance with New Orleans jazz, Afro, and Caribbean sounds) closed the festival.
A reoriented cultural program
After 2018, the CCCE did not renew the Festival Courants d'Art. The inter-municipal authority now supports and organizes other cultural events in its territory, including the theater festival « Ici ou là » (5th edition in 2025) and an annual Grand Spectacle (ADN, Odyssée verticale in 2026). The CCCE is also a main partner of the Festival Étrange-Grande in Hettange-Grande.
In Cattenom itself, it is now the Cattenom town hall, supported by the Cattenom Loisirs Culture (CLC) association, that organizes another summer event on the same Esplanade: Les Estivales 2 Cattenom, an annual event dedicated to free concerts, markets, flea markets, and family entertainment on the first weekend of June. This is a different event, independent of the Festival Courants d'Art.
If a new edition of the Festival Courants d'Art were to be organized in Cattenom, this page would be updated accordingly.

No 2026 edition of the Festival Courants d'Art is being organised in Cattenom. Created in 2017 by the Communauté de Communes de Cattenom et Environs (CCCE), the festival had two editions on the Esplanade de Cattenom (2017 and 2018) before being discontinued. The 2026 cultural agenda of the CCCE and the Cattenom town hall does not mention the return of the festival.

No official source, neither the CCCE (historical organiser), nor the Cattenom town hall, nor the local press (Lorraine au Cœur, JDS Thionville, MOSL.fr) confirms the holding of a 2026 edition of the Festival Courants d'Art. The CCCE's 2026 cultural program focuses on other events (ADN Odyssée verticale show on June 12-13, 2026, 19th Printemps Musical en Pays Mosellan, "Ici ou là" theatre festival).
Another event, Les Estivales 2 Cattenom, takes place on the same Esplanade on June 13 and 14, 2026, but it is a different event, organised by the Cattenom town hall and the Cattenom Loisirs Culture association (free concerts, flea market, markets, family entertainment). It is not a re-edition of the Festival Courants d'Art.

The Festival Courants d'Art was held on the Esplanade de Cattenom (57570), in the heart of the town, freely and gratuitously accessible. Cattenom is located in the north of Moselle, about twenty kilometers from Thionville and near the Luxembourg border.
