A unique meeting between craft beer and the geek universe

Craft Beer'n Geek has established itself as one of the most original events in the Yonne region by merging two passions that, at first glance, seem distant: craft beer and geek culture. Organized by the collective Tandem Events France, in partnership with Geek and Co and Rockin Vintage Beer, this annual event takes over the Marché Couvert de Joigny for a day of discoveries, encounters, and good cheer.

Over 1,300 m² of discoveries

Across an area of over 1,300 m², the festival unfolds a complementary two-sided universe. On one hand, hop lovers find their happiness with local and regional craft breweries offering tastings on tap, beers with surprising aromas, and direct encounters with passionate brewers. On the other hand, geeks of all ages explore a bustling market of collectible figurines, manga and comics, retro toys, steampunk items, role-playing games, board games, vintage consoles, and all of pop culture from the 1980s to today.

Activities for everyone

The event is not limited to visiting stands; it offers an animation program to liven up the day. At 11:30 AM, the famous Blind Test Apéro hosted by a DJ invites participants to identify iconic theme songs and music from TV series and cartoons from the 1980s to 2000s. At 2:00 PM, the Beer Quiz tests the knowledge of beer enthusiasts in a good-natured atmosphere. The afternoon concludes at 4:00 PM with the legendary Bavarian Tournament, where participants must hold a one-liter mug at arm's length for as long as possible. Throughout the day, a TCG (Trading Card Game) area welcomes collectors of Pokémon, Magic: The Gathering, Yu-Gi-Oh!, Dragon Ball, and One Piece cards for friendly exchanges and duels. A raffle contest with a draw at 5:30 PM gives fast-pass holders the chance to win prizes offered by exhibitors.

Craft Beer'n Geek targets a wide audience, from craft beer lovers curious about new flavors to pop culture enthusiasts, as well as families. Admission is intentionally kept at a modest price to promote accessibility, and children under 10 enter for free. Fast-track passes and a family pass allow attendees to make the most of the day. The covered market of Joigny, located in the heart of the city on the banks of the Yonne, offers an ideal setting for this event, protected from the weather while remaining easily accessible.
