Cider & Sound - Music festival in Norman orchards
The Douce Amère Festival - Cider & Sound is a music festival held annually at the end of May at the Domaine de La Galotière in Crouttes, in the heart of the Orne Pays d'Auge region. This friendly and family-oriented festival features about ten concerts showcasing emerging artists from the Normandy region in a typically Norman setting, between orchards and cider houses. With its rock programming and musical discoveries, accompanied by artisanal cider and exclusively local products, Douce Amère embodies the festive and authentic spirit of Normandy.
The Douce Amère Festival was born from the meeting of music and the Norman terroir. Located at the Domaine de La Galotière in Crouttes, in the heart of the Orne Pays d'Auge, this festival has offered a unique experience since 2022, combining rock concerts and alternative music, artisanal cider tasting, and discovery of local products.
Douce Amère showcases emerging artists, with a particular focus on talents from the Normandy region. The programming, resolutely focused on rock and alternative music, offers about ten concerts over two days. The 2025 edition notably featured Metro Verlaine, Tolvy, Mickle Muckle, and headlining Saturday night, We Hate You Please Die.
The festival takes place at the Domaine de La Galotière, a renowned cider-producing estate in Crouttes. Amidst blooming apple trees and traditional Norman buildings, the setting offers a rural and authentic atmosphere that distinguishes Douce Amère from classic urban festivals.
True to its subtitle "Cider & Sound", the festival highlights Norman artisanal cider and offers food exclusively made from local products. Cider-based cocktails, dishes prepared by local producers, and a friendly atmosphere make each edition a moment of gourmet and musical sharing.
Douce Amère cultivates a family and warm atmosphere, far from large, standardized festivals. The human scale of the event allows for a unique proximity between artists and the audience, creating authentic moments of sharing amidst the Norman orchards.
Born in 2022, Douce Amère grows with each edition, attracting an increasingly large audience and solidifying its place in the Orne cultural landscape. The festival is part of a dynamic of valuing the Norman cider heritage through culture and music.
The 5th edition of the Douce Amère Festival will be held at the end of May 2026 at the Domaine de La Galotière in Crouttes, with a new program of rock concerts and musical discoveries.
