Durassic Festival

ℹ️ Since 2025, the electronic music event at Château de Duras is presented under the name « Anamorphose Festival ». It is run by the same team (Duras Animations association) and takes place in the same setting, the park of Château de Duras. The next edition (4th Anamorphose Festival) is confirmed from July 10 to 12, 2026, with psytrance in the spotlight.

Electronic music at the foot of a medieval castle

Born in 2021, the Durassic Festival is a unique event that marries electronic music and historical heritage. Organized by the Duras Animations association, the festival unfolds in the park of Château de Duras, an imposing 14th-century fortress perched on the hillsides of Lot-et-Garonne, at the crossroads of Gironde and Dordogne, about an hour from Bordeaux, Périgueux, and Agen.

An exceptional 10,000 m² setting

Château de Duras offers a spectacular backdrop for an electronic music festival. The 10,000 m² of park and main courtyard transform for a weekend into a huge open-air dancefloor. The program revolves around thematic evenings, each exploring a different facet of electronic music:

• Synth-pop and disco night for the festival's opening
• Techno night with internationally renowned artists
• Trance and psytrance night to close the weekend in apotheosis

Concerts take place from 8 PM to 3 AM, offering hours of uninterrupted music in a magical setting illuminated by light shows and video projections.

Video mapping: the Durassic signature

One of the most striking elements of the festival is the video mapping show projected onto the monumental facade of the castle. This technical feat transforms the medieval walls into a living canvas of optical illusions and luminous animations, creating a unique symbiosis between ancient heritage and contemporary digital arts. This concept, named "Anamorphose", has become the true visual signature of the festival and has given its name to the current edition.

An eclectic and ambitious program

Since its creation, the Durassic Festival has attracted leading artists to the electronic scene. The first edition in 2021 gathered nearly 3,000 festival-goers per evening despite an still uncertain health context. Subsequent editions confirmed the festival's ambition with headliners such as Jeff Mills, Infected Mushroom, NTO, Bon Entendeur, Arnaud Rebotini, Hilight Tribe, Zentone, and La P'tite Fumée.

The program covers a wide spectrum of electronic music: techno, house, electro, acid, bass-house, psy-techno, psytrance, trance, and electronic world music. Each edition highlights both international artists and emerging talents from the French and regional scene.

Beyond the music

The Durassic Festival is not limited to nocturnal concerts. During the day, the castle and the village of Duras host animations, masterclasses, and workshops. The festival village offers food stalls, a refreshment bar, and a relaxation area. A safe space is also set up to ensure the well-being of all festival-goers.

A festival rooted in its territory

Located in the medieval town of Duras, a small commune of 1,200 inhabitants, the festival contributes to the cultural and economic dynamism of this rural territory of Lot-et-Garonne. Château de Duras, classified as a historical monument, benefits from this spotlight, attracting a young and curious audience each summer, eager to discover this heritage gem from a resolutely contemporary angle.
