About Vibrations Urbaines
Vibrations Urbaines is the premier urban culture festival in Pessac, Gironde. Established in 1998 by the City of Pessac, it dedicates several weeks each autumn to hip-hop, board sports, street art, and dance. The program features skate, BMX, scooter, and freestyle roller contests, breakdance battles, mural painting, exhibitions, concerts, and DJ sets, all hosted across various locations throughout the town.

The 28th edition of Vibrations Urbaines, from September 11 to October 11, 2026, in Pessac: skate, BMX, scooter, and roller freestyle contests, the Pessac Battle Arena breakdance battle, street art exhibitions and murals, concerts, and DJ sets. Most events are free.
2026 Edition
Vibrations Urbaines returns to Pessac from September 11 to October 11, 2026, for its 28th edition. Nine events are spread over five weeks across several locations: Place de la Vè République, the Bellegrave skatepark and sports hall, the Forêt du Bourgailh pump track, the Artothèque, and the Maridor building.
The opening night on September 11 is free at Place de la Vè République: EmmaFleurs concert, Adrien Vannier's "Mixité(s)" streetwear fashion show, a performance by the Xtrem Dance School, DJ sets by DJ Leeloo Dallas, and street art, dance, BMX, and skate workshops.
Three weekends of skating follow, all with free admission: Ride & Rythm at Bourgailh on September 12, the BMX Contest from September 18 to 20, and the scooter and roller freestyle contest from September 25 to 27, the latter two at the Bellegrave skatepark.
In terms of visual arts, the Artothèque presents Ursa Minor, an exhibition by 2SHY, from September 17 to October 10. From September 28 to October 2, Pierre XZXZ will complete the mural on the Maridor building, which was started last year with local residents. On October 3, the unveiling of Lilee Imperator's work at the Château des Sports will be followed by a DJ set from the Medusyne collective, and the Chara company will perform SELAM at Place de la Vè République.
The festival concludes on October 11 with the Pessac Battle Arena, a 2v2 breakdance battle at the Bellegrave sports hall (€10 full price, €5 reduced).

Friday, September 18 to Sunday, September 20, 2026 — BMX Contest
Bellegrave Skatepark, avenue du Colonel Jacqui. Free admission. BMX park contest, best tricks, high air, workshops, and entertainment. On-site registration Friday 6 PM–8 PM and Saturday 10 AM–1 PM. Six categories: under 12, under 16, 16+, Girls, Papa, and PRO. Registration fees: amateur riders €10, PRO €20. Stands, food, and drinks available.

Monday, September 28 to Friday, October 2, 2026 — Mural by Pierre XZXZ
Maridor Building, 30 boulevard du Haut Livrac. Live performance: screen printer and muralist Pierre XZXZ finishes the facade mural, started last year and designed with local residents during workshops. Opening reception Friday, October 2 at 5 PM.
Saturday, October 3, 2026
- 2 PM–10 PM — Street art & DJ sunset · Château des sports, Bellegrave. Unveiling of Lilee Imperator's work and artist talk, followed by a sunset DJ set by the Bordeaux collective Medusyne. Refreshments on-site.
- 4 PM–8 PM — SELAM, Cie Chara · Place de la Vè République. Traveling urban dance show for four dancers, blending breaking, hip-hop, and popping with Moroccan cultural codes. The audience follows the dancers from one space to another. Co-produced with FAB, Festival international des Arts de Bordeaux Métropole.
Sunday, October 11, 2026 — Pessac Battle Arena
Bellegrave Sports Hall, avenue du Colonel Robert Jacqui. 2 PM–6 PM, doors open at 1:30 PM. International 2v2 breakdance battle. Full price €10, reduced price €5. Snacks and drinks on-site.
Prices Vibrations Urbaines 2026
Pessac Battle Arena (October 11): full price €10, reduced price €5 (6-18s, students, job seekers, people with disabilities, youth card holders and companions, groups), free for children under 6 and Pass'Jeune holders. Online pre-sales open since July 15; Pass Jeunes sales and exchanges at City Hall since September 1.
Rider registration fees: Ride & Rythm €5 including a drink; BMX Contest €10 for amateurs and €20 for PRO; scooter & roller freestyle €5 for amateurs and €10 for PRO.

Access
The festival is held at various sites across Pessac (33600). Organizers strongly recommend using public transport, cycling, or carpooling.
- Bellegrave (skatepark, sports hall, château des sports): 10-minute walk or 5-minute bike ride from Pessac-Centre; take bus 30, 35, 74, or 78 to the "Colonel Jacqui" stop.
- Forêt du Bourgailh (pump track and skate park), avenue de Beutre: 16-minute bike ride from Pessac-Centre; take bus line 1 to the "Forêt du Bourgailh" stop.
- Artothèque, 2b avenue Eugène et Marc Dulout: Take tram B or bus 1, 24, 30, 35, 74, 77, or 78 to the "Pessac-centre" stop.
- Le Royal: 5-minute bike ride from Pessac-Centre; take bus 24 to the "Les Érables" stop.
- Université Bordeaux Montaigne: 10-minute bike ride from Pessac-Centre; take tram B or bus 31 to the "Montaigne-Montesquieu" stop.
Bicycles, scooters, and electric scooters can be rented via the "Le Vélo par TBM" app (infotbm.com) or through free-floating services.

Vibrations Urbaines: Celebrating Urban Culture in Pessac
Founded in 1998 by the City of Pessac, Vibrations Urbaines is one of France's longest-running events dedicated to urban culture. The festival takes place every autumn, spanning several weeks and multiple venues across the town.
Dance and Music
The Pessac Battle Arena, a 2-on-2 breakdance competition, stands as one of the oldest battles in France. The festival lineup also includes live concerts, DJ sets, and hip-hop dance performances.
Board Sports
The festival's skate, scooter, and BMX competitions are among the first of their kind in France, dating back to the late 1990s. Events are held at the Bellegrave skatepark—which reopened in September 2024 following renovations and serves as the daily home for the Pessac BMX Club and the SPUC Roller freestyle scooter section—as well as at the pump track in the Forêt du Bourgailh.
Street Art
Street art was added to the program in 2002. Since then, artists from around the globe have transformed the walls of Pessac. The "QR20" trail, created in 2017 by Valentine Deudon-Guercy for the festival's 20th anniversary, now connects around fifty works of art scattered throughout the city, from the Bourgailh forest to the university campus.
