Reggae takes over the Seine Valley
Born in 2023 from the passion of a collective of volunteers within the EnPagaill association, the En Pagaill' — Gaillon Reggae Festival has quickly established itself as the essential reggae event in the Eure region and the Norman Seine Valley. Every summer, the park of Gaillon Castle — with its breathtaking view of the river and hills — transforms into a festive space dedicated to Jamaican music and its offshoots: roots reggae, dub, dancehall, rocksteady, and ska.
The choice of location is no accident: the lower gardens of Gaillon Castle, the first Renaissance castle built in France in the 15th century, offer an exceptional green setting where music resonates among ancient trees and historic ramparts. This alliance between heritage and popular culture is what makes the festival unique.
A program balancing headliners and discoveries
Since its creation, En Pagaill' has championed a demanding yet accessible program, blending national and international renowned artists with emerging talents from the French and European reggae scene. The 2025 edition featured major artists such as Broussaï, an iconic figure of French reggae, Mo'Kalamity, an internationally recognized soul and roots voice, Flox, an unclassifiable artist blending reggae, folk, and electro, as well as Jah Militant meets Junior Roy in sound system and Roots Riddim.
The 2024 edition notably hosted Red Cloud, Thibault Wolf, and several local sound systems, confirming the festival's commitment to supporting the regional scene while showcasing national-caliber artists.
A friendly festival rooted in its territory
Beyond the music, En Pagaill' cultivates a spirit of conviviality and sharing characteristic of reggae culture. The site features food stalls offering world cuisine and local specialties, craft areas, entertainment provided by La Batucad'Onf and Friends, and a relaxation area in the castle gardens. The EnPagaill association, dedicated to organizing festive, artistic, and socio-cultural events, pays particular attention to affordable pricing and family-friendliness, with free entry for children.
With its growth edition after edition — expanding from one day in 2023 to a two-day format planned for 2026 — En Pagaill' confirms the appetite of the Eure region for a quality, vibrant, and warm reggae festival.
