The world's largest gathering of Celtic harpists, in the heart of the medieval city of Dinan
The International Celtic Harp Meetings of Dinan are the largest Celtic harp festival in the world. Every summer, for five days in July, the medieval city of Dinan hosts harpists from around twenty countries for concerts, workshops, competitions, exhibitions, and a fest-noz. Organized by the Committee of the International Celtic Harp Meetings (CRIHC), based at the Maison de la Harpe (Ti An Delenn), the Meetings celebrate the richness and diversity of the Celtic harp in all its forms, from ancient tradition to contemporary creation.
The International Celtic Harp Meetings are an annual festival held every July in the historic center of Dinan. For over forty years, they have brought together harpists from around the world — Ireland, Scotland, Wales, Brittany, Spain, South America, Asia — for five days of music, sharing, and transmission.
The festival is driven by the Committee of the International Celtic Harp Meetings (CRIHC), an association based at the Maison de la Harpe – Ti An Delenn, located at 6 rue de l'Horloge in Dinan. A unique venue in Europe, the Maison de la Harpe is a space for permanent exhibition, a documentation center, and the festival's headquarters. It hosts events related to the Celtic harp throughout the year.
The program of the Meetings includes gala evenings at the Théâtre des Jacobins, afternoon concerts at the Couvent des Cordeliers, an open stage, workshops for all levels, international competitions, luthier exhibitions, and a closing fest-noz. The workshops allow amateur and professional harpists to improve their technique and discover new repertoires.
The Dinan Meetings encourage both amateur practice and professional creation. Each year, they host around fifty invited artists, from intimate duos to harp ensembles, as well as groups combining the harp with other Celtic instruments. The festival contributes to the international rayonnement of the Celtic harp and makes Dinan the world capital of this instrument.
The 42nd edition of the International Celtic Harp Meetings is expected in July 2026 in Dinan. Five days of concerts, workshops, competitions, and exhibitions in the historic center of the medieval city.
